Ready for Four Times the Romance? The Sons of Dusty Walker Are Waiting For You! by Randi Alexander

The four books in The Sons of Dusty Walker Series are available now, and man are they hot!

The Sons of Dusty Walker, erotic romance series

Book 1, Dylan, was written by Jodi Redford

Book 2, Jackson, I got to write!

Book 3, Killian, was written by Desiree Holt

Book 4, Rogue, is the creation of Sable Hunter

Here’s the book blurb for the series:

“Four Brothers, One Tainted Legacy, and a Wild, Wild Ride. Will They Survive It?”

When Dusty Walker’s untimely death brings his four sons to Red Creek, Kansas, they are in for more of a shock than just losing their father. None of them knew about the others. Nor did they expect to hear the strange terms of their father’s will. They might share last names, and even a special belt buckle, but they also share a lot of resentment. Dylan is struggling to follow his dream of being a country musician and dealing with yet another shock from the woman who suddenly came back into his life. Jackson’s life is on the rodeo circuit and doesn’t include any permanent arrangements, including a woman. Killian dreams of owning a ranch where he can raise Appaloosa horses, and he doesn’t plan to do it in Nowhere, USA. Rogue doesn’t know what to do with the naked woman in his bed nor the direction his life seems to be taking. He’s a loner, pure and simple. But if the brothers want their share of the half-billion dollar estate, they have to follow the terms of the will…one week in Red Creek running the business and getting to know each other. None of them can begin to predict how drastically their lives are about to change.

The hero of my story, Jackson, is based very loosely on my friend, Jackson Young. He makes up his own words, and says he’s not into computers and online stuff, but in reality, he’s very smart about those things. But I gave my character, Jackson Walker, a few of Jackson’s real-life traits…exaggerated quite a bit.

For his love interest, Ms. Rori Hughes is pretty much the opposite of Jackson. She’s a computer engineer, her parents are teachers, and you’ll never find a made-up word leaving her lips. Unfortunately, she’s got a bad taste on those lips for rodeo cowboys, and darned if Jackson Walker isn’t a bronc rider!

You can imagine the sparks flying, the heat building, and the denial of strong emotions clenching at both of them. Pick up Jackson’s story today and get yourself some hot cowboy romancetizing! (Yep, I made up that word myself!)

Book Blurb for Jackson: The Sons of Dusty Walker:

When rodeo bronc rider Jackson Walker’s father passes away, he’s shocked to find he’s not the only son of Dusty Walker. His dad had three other families at compass points around the country. When a stipulation in Dusty’s will requires him to live in his dad’s house and work at his company for one week, Jackson heads to Red Creek, Kansas to get it over with, so he can get the hell back to his regularly scheduled life.

Computer engineer Rori Hughes needs to solidify her position in Dusty’s company, but the only one of his four sons available is Jackson, and Rori has a mighty low opinion of rodeo cowboys. Finding inconsistencies in the computer files, Rori and Jackson work together to solve the mystery, but their constant contact fires a red-hot desire that burns wild between them.

Spending their days at Dusty’s opulent lakeside home, and their nights together making love, they both ignore the warning signs that point to their attraction becoming more than merely sexual. Jackson’s time in Red Creek is coming to an end, but can he follow his original plan and leave town, breaking away from smart, beautiful, sexy Rori?

Excerpt From Jackson: The Sons of Dusty Walker:

Rori let go of all her restraint too, her lips taking what she wanted from Jackson, her tongue doing its own exploration of his mouth. How was it that he tasted like spices and sex all at the same time?

She pulled back and slid her fingers to the button at his chest. “I’m ready to see what I’m gettin’ myself into.” Unbuttoning each one slowly, she trailed her fingertips along his chest, loving the few hairs that curled around her fingers on her path downward.

Tugging his shirt from his jeans, she slid it back, down his big arms, and let him toss it aside. Defined pecs, nice six-pack abs, and a narrow, tight waist. “Yummy.” She leaned forward and kissed the spot next to one of his tight, flat nipples.

He growled. “My turn to unwrap my dessert.” Jackson pulled the bottom of her shirt up, she lifted her arms, and he dragged the thing off and threw it. His breath left him in a rush as he stared at the red lace demi-bra that showed more of her breasts than it covered. “Beautiful.” He cupped the sides of her breasts and ran his thumbs across the tight points of her nipples.

Rori’s eyes rolled back for a few seconds and sweet chills shimmied across her skin. Licking her lips, she looked into his eyes as she reached for his belt buckle. It took a few seconds to unhook it, then she flipped open the button on his jeans and slowly dragged his zipper down.

His eyes turned a darker blue and his breath came faster, moving his chest up and down in a primal rhythm that matched her breathing.

Pressing her fingers to the bulge at his open zipper, Rori felt a power fill her, the ability to make this strong, irresistible man desire her this much could become very addictive. “You’re hard.”

His lips curved upward as his hands slid down her sides to her waistband. “And I bet you’re soft.” Jackson poked the tip of his tongue between his front teeth. “And I bet you’re sweet and wet.”

Between her legs, she became just that, wet and hot and aching with the need to be touched by him, tasted until she came for him. “Guess you’ll just have to find out.” Wherever this uncharacteristic boldness came from, she’d make it work for her. And him.

He unbuttoned and unzipped her pants, then with the speed of a cobra, he picked her up in his arms and deposited her on the bed, catching one of her feet as she bounced up. “What’s with these shoes, darlin’?”

Her red, high-top, canvas tennies always gave guys pause. “The rubber soles.” She watched as he unlaced her. “They don’t conduct any static electricity.”

Lifting one brow, he glanced at her face, then back to her foot. “Practical, yet quirky.” He pulled off her shoe, revealing her striped socks. “I wouldn’t have expected anything less.” He peeled off her socks and gazed at the coat of pink polish she’d slapped on her toenails this afternoon before heading over to his office.

She’d been called weird before, so his assessment of her wasn’t any kind of a shock. Rori was also tall, so even cowgirl boots sometimes made her inches taller than men she wanted to flirt with. But with Jackson, she could wear stilettos and still be eye-to-eye with him.

With his gaze locked with hers, he kissed each one of her toes.

And she giggled.

He laughed, made quick work of her other shoe and sock, then got down to business, pulling off her jeans and throwing them across the room.

The matching red lace panties felt soaked and warm between her legs. They grew even wetter as his gaze traveled along her legs to fasten on the spot where she needed his lips. “You’re beautiful, Rori. Desirable, sexy, smart, funny, interesting.” His gaze shot to her eyes. “After I taste you and make you scream my name…”

Her hips jerked up and her vision flickered between darkness and light as sparks ignited in her belly.

“Then I’m going to try to figure out if you’re as perfect as you seem to be.” He slid his hands up her thighs and grasped her panties, pulling them down slowly. “Oh god, yes.” His voice quavered.

She’d spent a good hour in the shower this afternoon, buffing and shaving.

“So pretty. Bare naked and dripping honey to lure me in.” He tossed her panties in a different direction than her jeans, toed off his boots, then knelt between her legs, staring at her pussy.

Unable to stop it, her hips circled slowly, little movements that pumped up her desire, her uncontrollable need for him. Only him. Nothing, no one else, ever mattered the way he did right this second.

Jackson eased her legs open and lay between them, on his side, his soft hair brushing her thigh, his firm lips kissing his way up, slowly, staring at her, teasing as he moved closer.

“Your scent, patchouli, right?”

“Uh…” She didn’t remember which body scrub she’d used today, didn’t give a damn if she ever did, as long as he kept drawing closer, closer. Then he was there, his lips on her, touching and kissing every inch of her, down lower, lower, then up to the top of her mound where his tongue flicked inside to find her tight little bud.

She jerked and cried out.

“Easy, darlin’.” He kissed lower again, then spread her legs even further and stared at the quivering lips between her thighs. “If I thought you were beautiful before, holy hell, you’re like breath for a drowning man.”

So poetic, so sensual. She almost hated for him to stop talking, but she needed more from him. Letting out a little whine, she tipped her hips up toward him.

“Ah, let me guess. Telling me without words to get busy?”

Safe Sex and Magical Condoms

If you’ve read any of my books, you might have noticed that I rarely leave out the mention of birth control, particularly prior to the first love scene. There are two reasons for this. One, I think it adds a necessary realism. Yeah, I know I’m creating a fantasy with my books, but when it comes to most of my characters, safe sex is something they do take into consideration before tripping the mattress fantastic. So it makes sense for them to address it. My second reason for including it is because I feel a certain responsibility when it comes to my writing. Yes, my books are meant for adult readers, but I’m fully aware that there are probably plenty of readers under the age of eighteen who read my books too. Hey, I remember sneaking my dog-eared copy of Bertrice Small’s Skye O’Malley into my tenth grade history class and trying to pass it off as research. Side note: If you’re reading this, Mrs. Hadley, that really was for research. Really.

When it comes down to it, regardless of the age of my reader, I’d like to think my characters are someone you can relate to. As women–and for those men out there reading this too–we’ve all been faced with choices when it comes to sex. Why wouldn’t these same issues pop up in our fictional worlds? Even if that world happens to be on a planet light years away from Earth, or populated with hunky werewolves. But I’m curious what y’all think. Does it matter to you if safe sex is or isn’t used by your favorite characters? Does it ruin the fantasy or draw you out of the story in any way? Inquiring minds want to know!

And because I’d be remiss in not pimping my upcoming release a bit, here’s a little teaser scene from Lover Enraptured featuring a magical condom. Because who says safe sex can’t be fun AND sexy. 😉

Exclusive excerpt:

If this was all that she could have of Jerrick, would it be enough?

He leaned over her, the personification of a lifetime of longing wrapped up in an achingly beautiful package. And she had her answer.

No force on Aurion would give her the strength to walk away from this moment. Away from him. Her heart, her body, they’d always belonged to him. There was no fighting her destiny. She cupped his face, stroking the beloved planes of his cheekbones with reverence.

He sipped at her lips, his thighs coaxing hers wider. “I want to feel you wet and clasping tight around me. I promise I’ll weave the sheath before I come.”

It took a moment to grasp his meaning. “You can make a magical condom?” The notion almost made her giggle.

He grinned. “One of the perks of being a Maddoc.”

His shaft furrowed along her slit, splendidly fat and rigid, and she sighed in pleasure. Well hello there, second big perk of being a Maddoc fae.

Wild, Fun Photos of My First Trip to the Romantic Times Convention #RT2013

I’ll admit that I was nervous Tuesday when I headed to Kansas City, Missouri all by myself. But then I started meeting people and attending events, and I never felt like I was alone. I wear a purple cowgirl hat wherever I go, so I’m easy to recognize, and being a chatty person, I made lots of new acquaintances.

Another 69 Shades author, Jodi Redford, and I connected immediately, and we found we had a lot in common…

Jodi is so much fun, we ended up getting very little sleep, and doing very much partying.

At the Cowboy Corral, I met Scott Nova (left) and Evan Scott (right). Scott Nova is the cover model on my free story A Gentleman and a Cowboy.

Both cover models were a pleasure to talk to, and truly fabulous guys.

At the Ellora’s Cave Disco night, Jodi and I met the legendary cover model CJ Hollenbach.

I just loved his costumes and his hair is fabulous!

It was so nice to meet both old and new readers at Thursday’s book signing. I was asked to autograph quite a few tote bags, and one sweet woman even asked me to sign her iPod case. I was overwhelmed by the kindness of everyone who came to say hi. Wow!

My gift basket – which included the lovely inflatable cactus – was popular, and I even bought the winner a drink. Woo-hoo!

Then I met the very naughty Terry Terranova, cover model, dancer, and absolutely hillarious man! He’s a cowboy with a ponytail, which is so hawt!

Terry, Jodi, and I sat and drank champagne until three in the morning. He’s such a sweetheart!

It wasn’t all parties, though. I presented a workshop on marketing for authors, and I made it to The Nelson-Atkins Museum of art where I saw a real Remington painting.

And I fell in love with this gorgeous painting, but darned if I can remember the name of the artist. Any art experts out there who recognize this painting?

I’m already planning to attend next year’s convention in New Orleans, and am working on ideas for workshops to lead. And parties to attend!

Have a great day,

A Sneak Peek!

One of my favorite parts of writing is when I get to revisit characters that I’ve come to love in past books. Right now I’m working on edits for Lover Enraptured, the second installment of my Thieves of Aurion series. As I’ve been working on this book, I’ve been reminded all over again why Jerrick and Avily have been sitting in the back of my mind for the past few years, screaming to have their story told. I love characters who have smoking hot chemistry that they’re trying to resist. It makes their eventual downfall that much sweeter. 😉 Although this book doesn’t come out until August, I thought I’d give y’all a sneak peek with a little unedited excerpt and the ridiculously hot cover.

The knob turned and the next instant Jerrick pushed inside the cramped space of the bathroom. Avily caught his reflection in the looking glass. His stunned, sucker punched expression was almost worth donning the skimpiest dress known to womankind.

She frowned at him, ninety-nine percent certain that wasn’t so much a word he’d produced as the sound of him swallowing his tongue. “It’s okay, you can say it. I look ridiculous.”

He snapped his mouth shut and cleared his throat before attempting to speak again. “Not what I was going to say at all.”

“No? Then how would you phrase it? Stupid? Silly? Skanky? I’m sure I can come up with a few more S words if you give me a moment.”

She chuffed a humorless laugh. “Good one.” She would have tossed out another flippant comment but the heat in his eyes dried it to dust in her mouth.

He continued looking at her, really looking at her, in a way he’d never done before. As if he liked what he saw. No, craved what he saw. To the point that he wanted to sink his teeth straight into her for a leisurely meal.

Her turn to gulp. “Jer?”

The timid, uncertain quake in her voice seemed to jog him from his hypnotic fascination with her scantily clothed body. The mask of cool blandness he’d perfected over the years slipped back in place. “The dress will work out fine.”

“I don’t know. I can’t even tie it up properly.”

“Here, I’ll get it.”

Before she could protest or swat him away, he stepped behind her and gripped the laces. “Tell me if I’m doing it too tight.”

“I want it snug so I don’t fall out of the damn thing.”

“Yeah, that’d be a pity.”

She snapped her gaze to the looking glass, but his lowered profile revealed nothing regarding that crack. She opened her mouth to demand an explanation, and squeaked like she’d been goosed when he tugged on the laces without adequate warning.

Now I know how a sausage feels. Attempting to retain enough oxygen in her lungs to breathe, she sucked in her tummy. Any air trapped there apparently migrated up into her bosom because it plumped like it’d been inflated with helium. Jerrick’s motions stalled for a second, his scrutiny glued to her cleavage. Catching her suspicious squint in the looking glass, he returned his attention to the ties. His knuckles brushed her skin with each pass of the leather through the metal grommets. As he ventured closer to the top of the dress, the lessening slack of the laces meant more chances for his fingers to linger on her goose pebbled flesh. By the time he pulled the final lace ends together her knees were trembling.

Jerrick’s warm hands slid upward and rested on either side of her neck. “You’re shaking.”

“In case you didn’t notice, this dress offers less coverage that a washcloth. I’m cold.”

“No, I definitely noticed.”

She assumed he was referring to the inadequacies of her apparel, until she noticed he was staring fixedly at her nipples. The combination of her arousal and the chill in the room had stiffened the little buggers to hard points behind the crimson leather. He met her eyes again and the sultriness brewing in his irises knocked the remaining air from her diaphragm.

“Tell me touch you.” Gravel rode rough shod over his voice. “Same as you did before.”

“You’ve been touching me for the past five minutes.” Something the slickened state of her panties was all too happy to remind her of.

“You know that isn’t how you want me to touch you. How I’m dying to touch you.” His fingertips trailed over her collarbone, flirted with the upper curve of her breast.

Her eyes fluttering shut, she gave in to a wispy exhale. “Don’t you dare die before you grope me properly.”

“Good girl.” His whiskered jaw caressed the side of her face just as his hand coasted lower and cupped her breast. “That sounds suspiciously like something a dominatrix would say to her sub. Although I suspect she’d back up the reprimand with a stinging bite from her flogger.”

“Trust me, if I’d had one handy, I would have gladly cracked you across the ass.”

His smoky laugh brought new meaning to the term oral sex. Because gods knew, listening to it could trigger an orgasm. He nibbled her earlobe, each tiny nip provoking a pulsing throb through her clit. “You never know. I might enjoy it.”
