Summer Lover Coming May 18th by Anna Lund

I’m excited to announce that my third spanking romance with Blushing Books will be released on May 18th. This one is not part of my Norian Masters world, but a stand alone romance with a lake cottage setting perfect for curling up with on a lazy afternoon. And getting you in the mood for a hot summer night.

Unofficial Blurb:

Ethan and Hayley were summer lovers until the year Ethan didn’t come back to the lake. Now, after a health scare, the workaholic CEO has returned for the weekend, under orders to relax. He thought the trip was going to be a waste of time until he sees Hayley again. He soon realizes she’s what’s been missing from his life.

Hayley never stopped loving Ethan. They pick up where they left off, kissing, bantering and enjoying fun spankings that lead to hot sex. But he’s a city boy and she’d never leave her cottage by the lake. Ethan has a plan that might give them both what they want – or break them up forever.

Here’s a little excerpt to tease you:

Still clutching the handle of his laptop case, he looked out the bank of floor to ceiling windows that faced Barden Lake. The setting sun threw ripples of red and gold across the water. He loosened his tie, unbuttoned his top button, and without thinking, crossed the room and stepped through the French doors. The sky was on fire. He’d forgotten how beautiful the sunsets were here.

This secluded cove was unique, at least for Barden Lake. Dozens of cottages ringed the lakeshore, but except for the ones directly across the wide lake, only this cottage and the one next door were visible from here.

Our own little private cove. A musical voice he hadn’t heard in years whispered in his ear with the memory.

He was so engrossed in the setting sun, it was a moment before he noticed the movement off to the side in the water. With the sun low and behind her, all he could make out was a woman’s silhouette rising from the lake.

The water shimmered around her and each step revealed more of her breathtaking body. Water cascaded over her shoulders and down her chest. Her full breasts bounced with each step and he sucked in his breath when he caught a glimpse of her nipples. Her waist dipped in above nicely rounded hips, leading to long, trim legs. His eyes zeroed in on the wet curls at the juncture of her thighs and all his blood shot south.

Her body glistened as the drops of water on her skin picked up the remaining rays of the sun. He could tell the exact moment she noticed him standing there, staring at her like a voyeur. She stumbled a little as she stepped out of the lake onto the grassy shore, but she didn’t screech or call out to him or dive for cover behind the lone maple tree that marked the boundary between the two properties. Instead, she lifted her chin and sauntered slowly over to the large towel lying at the base of the tree.

He barely caught a glimpse of her face, but a memory of soft red hair with gold highlights, sparkling green eyes and a wide, sassy smile slapped into his brain. Could it be…?

His heart raced. Of course, it was. It couldn’t be anyone else. Hadn’t some part of him hoped he’d still find her here?

Ethan’s mouth watered as she slowly bent down to pick up the towel. Did she purposely turn so her tempting ass faced him? Was she teasing him? Or mooning him? Or begging for the slap of his hand? Whichever, he was now hard and hurting as he continued to watch her. There was no way in hell he could turn away now.

She didn’t bother drying herself off as she straightened and wrapped the large beach towel around her body. A ridiculous sigh of disappointment escaped his lips when she was covered. Her long wet hair flowed down her back like a waterfall and he wanted to run his fingers through it.

Then she turned to face him and the memories washed over him like that waterfall. Five years later, he still remembered her perfectly. Remembered every single sensation. Every cry of passion and need. Every touch and lick, every suck and slap of flesh against flesh.

His mouth might have been watering only a moment ago, but as she crossed the lawn and climbed the steps to join him on the deck, his throat was so dry he couldn’t say a word. Water continued to stream from her hair and skin. The towel caught some of it, but water soon pooled on the floor at her feet. The sun had almost met the horizon and Ethan wished he could see if the green of her eyes was still as deep as he remembered.

“You’re early.” She sounded more than a little annoyed. Was it really just because he was early? Or that he’d showed up here at all?

“Hello, Hayley.” He fought a smile and kept his voice level. “You’re looking good.”

When I get the cover and official blurb, I’ll be sure to share them with you. In the meantime, mark your calendar for May 18th, or like my FB page. to get more information.

Cover Reveal – Bound to Surrender!!

I haven’t been around much the past month or so because a family emergency took me away from home. To be near my parents, hubby and I have traveled from New York to Florida for the coming few months. I’m so glad we bought that new – bigger – RV last spring. We can be comfortable living in it for several months, being close but no longer living in the same house. With the new wifi hot spot we got during our quick run north to pick up the RV, I can now get back online with my computer!

I’d hoped to have Bound to Surrender out before Thanksgiving, but that didn’t happen. I hope to get it proofread and formatted soon and out for sale, but for now I’m excited to share the new cover – another great job by the talented Lacey Savage – and give you a little peek at what’s coming.

Love is nothing but an illusion. Heiress Gabriella Winslow learned that lesson years ago when her magician boyfriend abandoned her, sick and alone, hundreds of miles from home. In the years that followed, she’s tried to forget him and the erotic bondage games they used to play. But the life she’s made for herself since then still leaves her restless and yearning for something more.

Now a successful illusionist, Alexander Black has returned to settle an old score. And to seduce Gabriella. With a blindfold and handcuffs and blood red roses, he entices his former lover and magician’s assistant back to his Las Vegas penthouse. If all goes according to plan, she’ll surrender to him before she discovers everything isn’t as it seems.

Previously published as Smoke and Mirrors.

A strong arm wrapped around her shoulders and pulled her against a hard, hot body. At the same time, a long-fingered hand slapped over her mouth. The hand and the familiar, musky scent of arousal identified her assailant as surely as if she didn’t have the blindfold on.
“I always did enjoy watching you struggle,” he said, his lips brushing her ear. His deep voice rumbled through her body. She growled and he snatched his hand away from her mouth as if he could tell she was about to chomp into his flesh.
“You bastard!” She tried to pull away from him, but he held her fast against him.
“Gabriella. Gabriella,” he admonished. “Such words coming out of that refined mouth.”
“Fuck you!”
His chuckle was deep and dark. “Oh no. That’s your job.”
An image of her riding his thick cock, cries of passion ringing in the air, popped into her mind. “In your dreams,” she snapped, and hoped he didn’t hear the slight tremor in her voice.
His lips brushed her cheek. “You have no idea how often you haunt my dreams.”
She was shocked he’d make an admission like that. She wished she could see him, wished she could read the expression on that handsome face. But then, he’d always been good at hiding what he was thinking, so what good would it do? “Why are you doing this, Alex?”
He eased away from her slightly and ran his hand along her bare arm. Shivers followed his fingers along her skin. “I remember your fondness for certain illusions. The cuffs, the blindfold, the scarves.” He paused. “The cage.”
“I never liked the cage.”
He cupped her chin. “Of course you did.” He slid his fingers along her throat, stroking her from chin to chest. “Anticipation, princess. Nothing’s sweeter than anticipation.”
He dropped his fingers and skimmed them across the neckline of her dress, tracing the swells of her breasts. Shivers she hadn’t felt in years ran across her skin. While she knew she shouldn’t be thrilled to feel his hands on her now, she’d dreamed of this night too often to put up a fight.
Oh how well she remembered the expert touch of his fingers along her skin. He could always conjure up the sweetest sensations in her body. Like always, her pulse began to race. Moisture soaked her panties and trickled down her thigh.
He dove his hand beneath the neckline of her dress and cupped one of her breasts. She gasped as he squeezed her flesh and scraped his thumbnail across her sensitive nipple, just as she’d imagined a moment ago. “Ah yes. The one part of you I prefer unbound.”
Gaby dropped her head back onto the seat. The music wove through the air around them. The sensations had never been this strong. Ever.
Alex’s lips slid along her throat, smooth and wet. She moaned and yearned to wrap her arms around him, clasp him to her…
Or better yet, push him away.
But she couldn’t do anything but gasp when he nipped her skin with his teeth. “That’s my girl,” he murmured just loud enough to be heard over the music. “It’s been too long since I’ve had my mouth on you.”

Bound to Surrender will be released soon. If you’d like to be notified as soon as it is released, you can sign up for my newsletter.

Now that I’ve settled in the land of sunshine instead of snow, I hope to be able to get a lot of writing done and have more releases to share with you!

Coming Soon! Bound to Submit

Halloween is fast approaching, the perfect time to re-release what had once been a Halloween Quickie. I always thought I would like to do more with this couple and after I got the rights back to the short novella, I revised and expanded it, doubling the length. And since it had originally been part of a special call, it didn’t get it’s own cover the first time around. It has one now! I love this cover by the talented Lacey Savage.

Mason’s dark good looks and dominating personality stirred up Kelly’s forbidden fantasies, frightening her so much that she broke up with him.  When she agrees to help out at the community haunted house, she never expects to be tied to a bed, playing damsel in distress to Mason’s masked, whip-wielding villain.

Mason knows Kelly is fighting her sexual needs and he hopes that a few hours of playing out her fantasies with him will prove it to her. Bound and under his control, she can’t run away from him this time.

Previously published as Nothing to Fear, but has been significantly revised and expanded.

His hot gaze ran over her and her breath caught in her throat. Oh God, it was like all her sick little fantasies coming true. Of course, she knew this wasn’t real. Mason wasn’t going to ravage her body while she was tied to that bed, but her panties got wet just thinking about it. Her breath came in short pants, her mouth suddenly dry.

She ran her tongue over her lips to moisten them, but when she noticed Mason watching her, she clamped them together. Oh, she was so in over her head here. How had she let this happen?

“I’ve missed you, baby.” His words were soft and sincere. Tears prickled her eyes. She’d never seen Mason look so vulnerable. He’d always been the strong, confident…Dom?

Yeah, she’d done the research. Read the books and surfed the ‘net after their breakup. Those BDSM things might have pushed his buttons, but that stuff wasn’t for her. Couldn’t be for her.

“I’ve missed you too,” she admitted, because no matter what, he deserved that much of the truth. “But that doesn’t mean anything about this is right.”

“We’re just playing.” He was still holding onto her upper arm and led her over to the bed. “We’re acting out in a haunted house. It doesn’t have to be any more than that if you don’t want it to be.”

She backed up against the high mattress. “I don’t know.” She didn’t want to admit that the BDSM stuff had pushed her buttons too.

“It’s too late to change your mind now.” He ran the rope along her bare arm and she shivered. “But then you like to run away from things that make you uncomfortable, don’t you.”

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. “Mason, please. I don’t want to get into this now.”

“You’re right, we don’t have time. Get on the bed.”

If all goes well, Bound to Submit should be available early next week. You can check with your favorite ebook vendor, or sign up for my mailing list to be notified when it’s released. I love being able to give some of my older stories new life!

Coming Soon – Playing for Real

Playing For Real, book #5, the final release in the Paolo’s Playhouse series, will be released on February 4, 2014. And while that seems like FOREVER to me, I know it will be here before I know it. So I thought I’d give you all a quick peek at Paolo and Julianne’s story.

Paolo’s Playhouse, Book 5

Paolo Mancini’s needs are simple: a committed relationship with a submissive who will let him love and care for her. But after a long, heartbreaking string of relationship failures, he’s beginning to think the perfect woman for him simply doesn’t exist.

When Julianne Barnes steps into his playhouse for one night of bondage sex, she blows him away with her beauty, sass and bravery. She could be the one…if she will allow him to show her how to weave bondage and submission into her life. And hopefully, into his.

Julianne keeps her craving for soft ropes, dark blindfolds, and strong fingers apart from “real life”, where this successful businesswoman doesn’t need anyone telling her what to do. Yet Paolo’s lyrical, steel-under-silk voice affects her body in ways that make her want to offer up her soul.
Slowly, delicately, Paolo tantalizes her closer to the idea that fantasy and reality can live as one. But to convince her it’s safe to open the last compartment protecting her emotions, he’ll have to expose his greatest vulnerability. His heart.

Warning: Features a petulant sub looking to live out her fantasies and a sexy Dom looking for love of the forever kind. Contains an intense sex-with-a-stranger fantasy, ropes, chains and a spanking. Or two. Or more.

“Julianne? It’s Paolo.”

She shivered simply from the sound of his sexy, lyrical voice speaking her name. She swallowed before she could speak. “I’ll be right down.”

“Buzz me in, Julianne.” There it was. The commanding tone that made her stomach tickle and her sex clench.

What had she gotten herself into? “Okay. But I’ll be right down.”

She grabbed her purse and locked the door to her apartment behind her. She’d walked up and down the narrow flight of stairs hundreds of times, but somehow tonight it seemed longer, narrower, her heels higher, skirt shorter, tighter. She was anxious to see Paolo again but still, she couldn’t help being nervous.

He was waiting for her at the bottom of the stairs in the entryway, frowning slightly. He took the first few steps up, hand outstretched, to meet her. He looked elegant, more than sexy, in a loose black jacket over a white shirt. “I should have come up to get you.”

She took his hand and his long fingers wrapped around hers, fingers that had strummed over every inch of her body. The electric spark of awareness might have been clichéd, but it was there just the same. She couldn’t let it zap her into submission that quickly. “There was no point in you climbing all these stairs just to come right back down.”

As soon as they were off the stairs, he drew her close, their bodies not quite touching. He nailed her with his deep blue gaze. “From now on, I will walk you to your door and collect you there as well.” He brushed his lips lightly over hers, only long enough to tease, not nearly long enough to taste.

She resisted the urge to lean into him. Instead, she shrugged as if her mind wasn’t screaming at her to end this now before he dictated more than how he would pick her up for a date.

He stepped back then, looked her over, her hand still in his. A lock of his dark, wavy hair fell over his forehead and gave him a softer look. His familiar scent wound around her.

He wrapped his arm around her waist and led her across the foyer. “Have you been anticipating our evening as much as I have?”

“I’ve been thinking about it a lot, yes.” She was excited to start their play dates. But she was also a little frightened about what he would want from her. What he would want to do to her.

He paused with his hand on the door handle and looked over at her. He was so close she could have gotten lost in those eyes. “You sound nervous. Do you want to talk about it before we head out?”

Hell yes, she was nervous, but she didn’t want to hang around here in the foyer to hash it out. “No. I’m okay.” She tried to keep her smile light. “I think we talked it all to death the other night.”

He chuckled and she relaxed a little. “Yes. You are right.” He opened the door and they stepped out into the warm Monday evening air.

Was that really a limo parked at the curb? A tall, broad man in a dark suit stood on the sidewalk.

She glanced at Paolo as he led her to the long black car. “This is for us?”

“Of course.” The uniformed man—was he a chauffeur or a bodyguard or what?—opened the back door for them. Paolo smoothly delivered her into the car as if he’d escorted dozens of women into the spacious backseat of this limousine at one time or another. And he probably had. A man as sexy and charming as Paolo, a man as dominating as Paolo, must have had plenty of women to ravish in the back of a dark vehicle.

And the thought of being ravished by Paolo was probably more exciting than it should have been.
The leather seat was soft and warm. Paolo slid in beside her and the door closed behind him, shutting them together in what a moment ago had felt like a huge space. Now that Paolo was beside her, he seemed to be sucking all the oxygen out of the air. Julianne started panting lightly, finding it suddenly hard to breathe.

He didn’t seem to notice her difficulty. He took one of her hands in his, intertwined their fingers before he lifted their joined hands to his lips. He lightly kissed her knuckles. Tingles shimmered over her body.

“The Playhouse must do very well,” she blurted out, her nerves getting the better of her.
Paolo lifted a brow, paused a moment before replying softly, “Yes. I am happy with its success.”

“I mean…a car like this? A driver like that? I didn’t expect…” She shut her mouth before she shoved her foot any deeper inside. It wasn’t any of her business. She sounded as if she was fishing for information. As if she cared how rich he was. As if she was surprised how rich he was. Even though she was.

“Why should you expect anything?” Paolo replied smoothly. “I did not pick you up in this car in an attempt to impress you. The truth is that I would rather not have my eyes and hands occupied with driving when I could have them more pleasantly occupied.” He kissed her knuckles again. “Watching you. Touching you.”

“Oh.” The word came out on a shaky sigh.

“I have been looking forward to playing with you again,” he told her as the car pulled away from the curb. “I see you wore a skirt as I requested.” Their hands still together, he dropped them down onto her bare knee, then slid them up her leg until he reached the hem of her short black skirt. He caught her gaze, held it. “Did you follow the rest of my instructions?”

Julianne hesitated, then nodded.

Paolo slid their joined hands down her inner thigh and she automatically spread her knees as far as she could in the tight skirt, so he could reach under and make sure she’d left her panties in the underwear drawer.

Since their fingers were still twined together, she felt, as well as he did, the bare flesh between her legs as he dragged their fingers through the wet, sensitive lips. Her sex clenched with the quick touch.

“Very good, Julianne.” There was enough light left in the twilight to catch the flash of pleasure and arousal in his eyes. Julianne felt an unexpected matching pleasure at his approval. And then the resulting dismay.

How could she declare she wasn’t submissive when she’d followed his instructions to the letter? When she felt a rush of pleasure simply from pleasing him? Was her denial only an attempt to pretend it wasn’t true?

Paolo drew their hands out from under her skirt. “Do not put your knees back together,” he said softly, his lips brushing against her ear. “I like knowing you are bare and open for me. I like to catch the scent of your arousal in the air around us.” He lifted their hands to his lips and he licked her moisture from their skin.

She trembled with the light touch of his tongue and the erotic words that flowed from his lips so easily. She looked out the tinted window at the buildings flashing by. It was time to get real. She was aroused. She was incredibly attracted to this man, but she was so far out of her comfort zone it wasn’t funny. Should she insist they stop now?

While the rational part of her mind whispered that was exactly what she should do, her body burned and sizzled and ached to be under his control again.

She couldn’t imagine never again feeling the incredible way she had when he’d tied her up in his fantasy room and played with her body. She couldn’t deny the feeling of rightness that snapped into place when he’d bound her and controlled her and—

“Julianne?” Paolo caught her chin and turned her to face him again. “Are you thinking too much?”

“I have a lot to think about.”

“I know.” He cupped her face, ran his thumb along her bottom lip. “I am tempted to tell you what I have planned for our play date tonight, but I think it is better for you not to know.”

“How can that be better for me?”

“Anticipation can be sweet, Julianne,” he said in that lilting Italian accent.

1 Week until Her Royal Masquerade

A prince looking for a royal bride. A woman playing the part of a princess.

My next release is a classic royal romance, the first in the Her Royal Romance series. Her Royal Masquerade is not an erotic romance, but I think there’s enough sex and sexual tension for our readers of smut. (Check out the excerpt below and see what you think.) If you love stories of mistaken identity and forbidden romance, you’ll find both in Her Royal Masquerade.

Her Royal Masquerade
Her Royal Romance book #1

Time is running out for Prince Vittorio. His father’s health is failing and he must find a royal bride. Fast. He’s never forgotten his glimpse of a beautiful Scandinavian princess and lures her to his Mediterranean country with an invitation to his father’s birthday ball. He’d planned to propose a marriage agreement as cold as her icy reputation, but then he discovers she’s as colorful and warm as a summer sunset. The heat between them flares red-hot and when she allows him to seduce her, Vittorio sees his future unfolding just as he had planned. But what he doesn’t know is that the woman in his bed is not a princess at all.

The last thing schoolteacher Mia Holmberg expects when she masquerades as her royal cousin is to be swept off her feet by a charming prince. The incredible night in Vittorio’s arms is like a fairy tale come true, but she’d never want the life of a real princess, with all its pomp and politics. Knowing they can never have a future together, she slips out of his bed and back to reality, where she belongs.

But Vittorio discovers the deception and kidnaps Mia back to his palace, demanding she be his mistress until the real princess appears. Despite her attempts to stay aloof, Mia soon learns there’s more to the prince than arrogance and attitude, but now she’s in danger of falling in love with a man she can never have.

“Quick. On the bed. I’ve waited long enough.”

She didn’t hurry, though, the vixen, as she approached, naked, her hips swaying, a small smile on her lips. She climbed onto the mattress and remained on her hands and knees. Her shapely behind faced him. Mia looked over her shoulder at him with a smirk.

“Like this, Your Highness?”

“Don’t tempt me,” he ground out. His hands itched with the urge to smack that sassy bottom. She deserved it, didn’t she? For lying to him? For mocking him? For tempting him with what he couldn’t keep and reminding him that he’d asked for the temptation?

He stepped out of his trousers and briefs and sat down on the edge of the mattress. He wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her face down over his lap.

“Vittorio!” she cried out and wriggled against his throbbing erection.

“So now you will use my name?” He swept her hair out of the way so he could see her face and held her down with one hand on her warm, smooth back. He stroked the soft, firm globes of her bare bottom with the other hand. She moaned in obvious pleasure. When she began to settle down, he smacked her with the palm of his hand. The sharp blow probably made his hand sting as much as her bottom did. Mia gasped and then began struggling again, her soft stomach rubbing against his erection.

He spanked her again. And once more. Her soft cries seemed to be a blend of outrage and arousal. Her face was buried in the covers, her hands pulling the soft comforter into her fists. But she’d stopped struggling.

Then after one more quick slap, his fingers found their way between her legs, discovering the soft, wet secrets nestled there. She moved against his hand, rubbing and inviting him to delve deeper. He slipped two fingers into her hot core and savored the clench of flesh around them.

He throbbed with his need for her. He flipped her over and slid her body up the mattress until her head reached the pillows. Her eyes widened but she didn’t say a word. He knelt between her wide spread legs and put his mouth on her, tasting her as she’d been tasting him a short time before. Her hands found his head, her fingers tangling in his hair. The tang of her desire was sweet on his tongue.
Her body moved under him, asking for more from him. Her fingers tightened on his hair, demanding it faster, harder. Strangled gasps escaped her parted lips. He snuck a quick glance and saw that her head was thrown back, her eyes closed, her back arched, her knees dropped to the mattress, giving him full access to all of her.

He could live off her nectar. He could stay between her legs forever. But on the heels of that realization came the knowledge that he would not have her forever. That he couldn’t live with her for long. They might only have a few hours together. A few days if he was lucky.

Lucky? The longer they were together, the harder it would be for him to remember that he was punishing her for her deception. That he hated liars. That he didn’t want to like her. He didn’t want to need her.

Coming Soon to our eReaders & tablets: ’69 Mustang by Kacey Hammell

For years I’ve been obsessed with Mustangs, especially the classic models. And by years, I mean since I was old enough to sit on my dad’s knee and listen to him and his buddies discuss cars, lines, engine revs and horsepower, etc, etc. One of these days I’d love to own one, but that might just have to wait until my kids are all grown and I’m not “Mom Taxi”. *g*  I’d prefer a red or black one, a classic over a newer model, but I would be quite happy with seeing a Mustang in my driveway every day.

So tell me, what is your favorite car?

Revved and Ready for passion, heat sizzles between two friends…

For Hayley Fitzgibbon, the heat wave blanketing her small town is nothing compared to the inferno inside her whenever she looks at her best friend, Rory. On the night of his parents’ anniversary party, she no longer resists her burning desire and makes it known how much she wants him. Secluded under a willow tree, down a lover’s lane, she’s revved and ready to claim her man on the top of his ’69 Mustang.

Excerpt © Kacey Hammell, 2013:

“Take this path,” she directed, hearing the breathlessness and passion in her voice.

“Hales, this is—”

“Memory Lane at the back of Zwick’s Park, I know. I haven’t been here in a long time.”

He maneuvered the car through the long grass and around high bushes. The area had overgrown in the twenty-something years since she’d been there last.

“Neither have I. Last girl I brought here was—”

“You don’t have to tell me. Tonight’s for new memories and new beginnings.” Last thing she cared about was his old lovers. “There are some willow trees right up there. Park beneath them for privacy.”

“Hales,” he began, his voice unsteady.

“What’s the matter? Scared to be alone out here with lil ole me?” She laid her arm over his arm, silencing him, amazed once again by the wealth of muscle beneath his shirt. Gone was the tall flagpole type body he grew up with. The six pack abs and bulging biceps he sported now continuously held her in awe – and drooling. He definitely took care of himself.

Rory pulled in under the trees, glanced over at her, his eyes enflamed in heat and desire, then turned off the ignition.

Hayley undid her seatbelt, shifted toward him, and clasped the back of his neck, then pulled him close. She crushed her mouth to his.

He tasted so good. Intoxicating. Incredible. Fucking superb. She tangled her tongue with his. Shivers of delight spread along her body, nipples beading while juices gathered in her pussy.

Digging her fingers into his nape, anxiousness filled her to taste every inch of him but there wasn’t room to maneuver in the tight confines of the car.

“It’s too hot in here to sit. Let’s go outside,” she whispered. She pulled back and opened her door. Though the strangling humidity hadn’t dissipated much, a slight breeze skated along her skin. She welcomed the pleasure of the coolness against her body from the numerous days of nothing but stagnant humidity and the fire Rory stoked inside her.

Slamming the door, she tip-toed farther under the trees, careful not to sink into the grass in her stilettos, and waved him to follow her. “Come on,” she called.

Rory wiped a hand over his face.

“Trust me it’s much cooler out here.”

For the moment at least.

Another sexy book coming your way.

Next month, I’ll be releasing another fantasy/paranormal erotic romance entitled Hardened Desire. I thought I debut the full excerpt for today’s post.

Hardened Desire_sm

What could Luc Mercier, a gargoyle who’s more than a century old, possibly have in common with modern introvert, Gillian Harris? Loneliness and isolation.

When meddlesome friends bring the two together, neither is prepared for the flurry of emotions nor revelations that overwhelm them. That is, until Gillian stumbles across the truth and struggles with how she let her guard down.

Learning to love again has never been harder.

Was he for real or what? Gillian mused while driving back to her High Park apartment. The stranger’s eyes captivated her, but also warned her not to get too close. There was something peculiar about his mannerisms. Who the hell actually kisses a woman’s hand when first meeting her these days? The age of polite men and chivalry only existed in history books and romance novels, and her life was anything but a romance novel.

Lizzie had crossed the line. What the fuck! Lizzie would be one dead chickie the next time Gillian saw her. If she wanted a date, she knew how to get one herself. Hell…the last thing I ever wanted was to be hand-fed a man.

Let alone the fact that she really didn’t have the time for one. It was bad enough this meeting put her into over-time, she still had work at eight in the morning. Yet, despite the inconvenience of this impromptu mini date—if you could call it as such—the man was charming in a distinguished sort of way.

Luc exuded a confidence that frightened her. Perhaps her inexperience with men dictated her apprehension, yet her inquisitive nature led her—or more accurately—dragged her on. She wanted to know more and understand what really attracted her to him in the first place.

Gillian backed into her designated parking space, narrowly missing the lamppost, utterly distracted by tonight’s events. She rushed into the building and ascended the staircase with expedience. She needed to talk to Lizzie and make sense of this, not to mention address the issue of her meddling.

Stepping into her apartment, she tossed her purse and briefcase aside and sought out her phone. Dialing Lizzie’s number, she kicked off her pumps and strode to the kitchen in hopes of finding wine, a cooler, anything. Anything to get her to relax, instead of freaking out. If there was ever a need for a stiff drink, now was one of those moments.

“There had better be a good reason for you to call and interrupt me,” the out of breath and exasperated voice answered.

Gillian squeezed her eyes shut, dumbfounded, pulling the phone away from her ear and smacking the hardware against the counter before returning it to her ear.

“Ugh! What did I ever do to you, Gillian?” Lizzie mumbled.

“Are you kidding me? What did you ever do to me? First of all, if you were in the middle of anything that involved being naked with a man, it’s your own damned fault for answering the phone. Secondly, I seem to recall a certain gentleman being directed to find me at Paradisio under your advisement. And don’t you dare tell me that you did nothing wrong!”

She hated being furious with Lizzie over this. She knew that good intention was meant, but if she didn’t draw the line at some point, she really had to wonder what was next.

Her friend scoffed then cleared her throat. “Listen, Gillian, first of all, I thought I was doing you a favor. And yes, I am in the company of two men…and yes, I said two. By the way, you should try it sometime. The man I sent to you seemed genuinely disappointed that he didn’t see you at the café tonight. Honestly, when are you going to learn to let go and live a little?”

So… What do you think? Have I intrigued you?
