Wine, chips, & B&E–Rhonda Lee Carver

Hi, y’all. Rhonda Lee Carver here!

I’ve been attending a wine tasting group for several months. We don’t meet often (shucks!) and I don’t know many of the women very well. One of the ladies, we’ll call her Sue, invited a few of us over to her brother’s house for wine by the pool. When I arrived at the house I was in awe. The place was amazing and luxurious. I  was afraid to touch anything, but she said her brother is go-with-the-flow. We’re all sitting around, drinking, snacking, having a good time when one of the ladies comes back from the restroom asking, “Why aren’t there any family photos, or anything personal?”  Sue answers, “Ladies, I have a confession.” Her expression turned serious. “This isn’t my brother’s house. I don’t know the man who owns the place, except that he is out of the country on business.”

I spurt wine out of my mouth. We’re all in shock. Is she joking?

“I’m sorry. I hope you can forgive me. I’ve had a problem for years, breaking into other peoples’ homes. I’ve been to the doctor, but the meds aren’t helping,” Sue said.

Okay, let me remind you. I don’t know this woman very well. She seems nice, head-together, cool…but I’ve had friends in the past who turned out crazy.

Then she starts laughing–so hard that she’s almost crying. “I had all of you! Haven’t any of you seen the movie The Gift?”

Yes, we made her prove that we weren’t trespassing.  And yes, I did see the movie The Gift!

I have a new series coming out September 6th! Saddles & Second Chances. Book 1 is Roman’s Choice.

Blurb:

Five brothers. One ranch. Hold on…things are about to get rough and dirty.

Roman Jericho, and his brothers, are known in Texas for their striking good looks and skill as ranchers–among other things that keep the ladies hot on their tails. The last thing Roman wants, or needs, is another marriage that ends with an empty bank account and bed so he steers clear.

Relationship Guru, Pippa Wilder, is at the top of her career. Two bestselling, self-help books and speaking engagements all over the country, she offers advice that saves marriages. But if only her fans knew how upside down her own love life is. Relationship after relationship fizzled. When she sees tall, strapping, and handsome stroll into the lobby at the Vegas casino, she drops all logic into the slot, pulls the lever and watches her life spin in front of her. She’s lost in smoky blue eyes and callused hands–and that husky Texas twang.

After falling in lust, they do something real crazy. They find themselves drunk on hormones, standing before an Elvis impersonator getting hitched. When all hell breaks loose in the media, to save her career Pippa must save her marriage.

Roman has always been the ‘go-with-the-flow’ type so when his ‘wife’ shows up on his ranch needing his help he’s more than willing to oblige–especially if it means they’ll be husband and wife in every way. He’s got it bad for the petite, spitfire and can’t seem to get enough.

Finding themselves smack-dab in the spotlight and on the cover of trash magazines, Roman isn’t sure he’s cut out to be in the public eye–he wants his wife, but he refuses to be called Mr. Pippa Wilder. Roman realizes it’s time to make a choice…or take the lead. This could be fun, or very messy.

EXCERPT:

“This might take a while, cowboy. Do you invite girls into your home?”

“Safety first. Can you be trusted?” He lifted a teasing brow.

“Honestly, it depends on the boy. One as sexy as you I might just misbehave.”

He pulled open the screen door and motioned her in. “Then by all means.” His smile was trophy-worthy.

She had one foot over the threshold when he caught her by the shoulder, stopping her in her tracks. He leaned in, bringing his wide chest so close to her nipples that his heat was like a magnet, making the buds swell and throb. His spicy scent swirled around her nostrils, teasing her, intoxicating her. Would he kiss her? Oh how she hoped he would.

He plucked something from her hair and held it out for her view. “A piece of straw. You’re turning into a country girl.” He laughed, causing her libido to stir like a witch’s brew.

“I’ve been called far worse, trust me.” She continued into the foyer where the AC was cranked up. The cool air made her nipples tighten. She must not have worn a thick enough bra because his interested gaze settled on her breasts and she swore she saw “Can I lick” written on his irises. She’d almost be willing to pull her shirt off, right here and now, just to have his hands on her.

He pulled his eyes to her face and she saw his jaw tighten.

She took a step back, then turned on her heel, standing in the doorway to the living room and taking in the décor. Bare white walls. A dark leather couch, matching chair, and a beige area rug that covered the polished wooden floor. The curtains on the large window were open to allow the sliver of light remaining in the day to flow in. It was nice, but functional.

“I see you shop at Bachelors-R-Us,” she teased.

He laughed. “I own half the stock.”

Cowboy radar–Rhonda Lee Carver

Have you ever been in a public place, see a handsome man and think to yourself…”wow, he’d make a great cover model.” That happens to me a lot and I sadly keep walking when all I want to do is stop, ask for his name and number. No, not for the reason you’re thinking. I want him to appear on the cover of one of my books. The other day, my wee one and I were walking in the park and I spotted the perfect ‘model’. Tall, built spectacular (I like my men more on the natural side, although I respect how much work it takes for buff models to get toned with no body fat), and strong–he was running up and down a big hill, over and over, sweating, slick…oh my. My radar triggered, the desire to ask him if he’d consider modeling was rolling through my brain, and he was right there…

There are several factors to consider here. One, how corny is it to walk up to a man and ask if he’d model for you? Reminds me of one of those Lifetime creepy movies where photographers approach attractive women and lure them back to a private spot for sinister acts. With that in mind, I’m 5’2, around 110. He was a good 6’2, weighing at least 200. Cross the perverted and sinister act off. Two, it takes an outgoing, brave soul to approach anyone and ask them such a question. I look around for a wife, girlfriend, lover, partner…anyone who’d think I was flirting. No one in sight. You’d never believe how many women/men refuse to let their partner model for a romance novel.

Okay, so I’ve talked myself into asking the guy. After all, he could say yes, or no. It’s a toss up.

I tell my wee one what I’m going to do and she freaks out. Suddenly I’ve moved from the cool mom box to the embarrassing mom box. What?!? Her face turns three shades of innocent red and she takes off at a run. And here’s the thing…the understanding that I have with my kids is that I’m their mom. Being embarrassed by me is part of life. I can’t help that anymore than I can control the weather. Just as they can’t help that they bug the shit out of me at times. But we still love each other. Amazingly so.

Out of respect for my kid, I walk on–well, actually run because she is about a half mile ahead of me at this point. It’s unbelievable how fast a kid can move with the right motivation. Dang! I just know he would have said yes!

Excerpt:

She hinged at the waist, wrapping her fingers around his wide girth and bending over him. She couldn’t wait to get her mouth on him and, just as she was about to suckle him between her lips, a knock came at the door.

Dade stiffened and she narrowed her eyes. “Go away,” she muttered.

Another heavy pounding came and the vase sitting on the table shook.

Felicia sat up, trepidation racing down her spine. She looked at Dade in curiosity, mouthing, “Who is it?”

He shrugged. “I’ll look.”

With disappointment, she unclutched his cock and watched him cross to the window. He looked as good going as he did coming. His ass was tight and squeezable.

“Oh fuck!” he whispered.

Her breath caught. “What?”

A pale, pasty color took the place of Dade’s normal olive complexion. “Chase is out there.”

“Oh shit!” She bounced off the bed and pulled the shirt around to cover her nudity. “What do we do?”

“We don’t answer the door like this.” He started for his jeans on the floor. She’d never seen a man slip into pants so quickly before. “You go to the bathroom and get dressed. I’ll take care of Chase.”

“Are you sure?” This could be World War Three getting ready to erupt.

He nodded. “Yes, I’m sure.”

“Open up. I know you’re in there!” Chase yelled through the door.

“You’ll need this.” She slipped his shirt from her shoulders and handed it over. She moved toward the bathroom carrying her clothes when Dade caught her by the elbow and pulled her back. She looked up at him, confused. “Yes?”

“One more.” He kissed her on the lips. It was brief, but it told her they were on each other’s side when it came to Chase.

Cover reveal–Rhonda Lee Carver

Hi, y’all. Rhonda Lee Carver here. Wow…May is almost over and I’m like a whirlwind getting caught up. It has been a crazy time here at my homestead. I feel as though I’m one step behind and a brain cell short. My  oldest daughter has serious food allergies and she had an anaphylaxis reaction. She has been under the care of a specialist for years, but dang, it’s very difficult to prevent allergies. In fact, we don’t have a clue what caused this one, which makes it scarier. Although my girl is safe and recovering, I was out of mind with worry. So, my characters and their lives were put on hold for a while.

Now, onto what you stopped by here for…sexy men and their sassy heroines. First, I have book 2 of Buttermilk Valley releasing in June. This series involves second chances, a sliver of suspense, hot Georgian nights, and finding the heart. I’ll be starting book 3 soon and you won’t want to miss how the suspense continues.

And…I’m finishing up the last details for book 6 of the Cowboys of Nirvana series, The Discreet Cowboy. Watch for it releasing soon.

Last but not least, I’m starting a new contemporary western series, Soot, Saddle, & Second Chances. This series will be so hot you’ll need sunglasses to read it 🙂

Stay tuned for more news and updates. It’s a good idea to subscribe to my newsletter where I’ll give away gifts, surprises and keep you updated. Simply click on the link below and fill out the easy form.

Here’s the blurb for The Lawman’s Promise.

Blurb:

Buttermilk Valley has a new sheriff…but he’ll turn Renegade before it’s all done.

Duff Tyler left Buttermilk Valley to follow his heart and join the military. Now he’s back fighting small town crime and corruption, and something far more dangerous–the love he thought he’d buried for his childhood sweetheart.

At the age of ten, Blake McKenzie married Duff behind the barn when he slipped a candy-machine-ring on her finger, but her dedication ended the day he left her. All she has left is the farm that has been in her family for generations and she refuses to give it up to anyone, even if her life is in danger. With a shotgun and more guts than any one person should have, she stands her ground–literally.

Known for being rough-and-ready, Duff finds that his skills are lacking when it comes to the petite red-head who’d stolen his heart once upon a time and he never got it back. He has a strong desire to love her and a need to protect her, but he’ll do both even if it kills him.

Blurb:

Avary Pine plays the cello like an angel.

One evening she is attacked outside of the theater after a performance and is left without the use of her hand.

Fast forward two years. After grueling physical therapy and living and breathing the cello, Avary is determined to become the musician she once was. Her music coach encourages her to start playing in the public again, but the mind doesn’t heal as fast as the body. Each time Avary closes her eyes she is filled with memories of the attack.

Living with her sister, out of money and in a career rut, Avary accepts an offer to play at a dinner party at the illustrious Knight Estate. Baby steps back into the musical world didn’t include a luxurious weekend at a vineyard, but does she have a choice?

Reserved, intimidating, rich Victor Knight reluctantly invites unworldly, mousy Avary to his estate–but he’s in for a shock. Nothing about her is mousy. The last thing he needs is to get involved with a sweet, free-spirited cellist, but why can’t he resist? She cramps his bachelor lifestyle, and he’s never been happier. But he can’t lose someone again…

Can they leave the baggage at the door and learn to trust? Or will their past poison their future?

EXCERPT:

“I have half a mind to strip you naked and bend you over my knee.” He took a tendril of her hair and wrapped it around his finger. “A good swat on that nice ass would do you a bit of good.”

She exhaled. “How dare you!”

He let the wisp of hair drop. “How dare I? Come now, sweetheart. You can’t hide the glint of curiosity filling your pale blues. I think it’s you who can’t decide if you’re the innocent cellist or the naughty musician. Admit the truth. You’d like my touch on your bottom, and other delicate places.” He subtly ran his fingers down her bare arm and clasped her slender wrist.  “I’d like to run my fingers over every soft curve and explore you with my lips and tongue.” He lifted his hand, brushing his fingers along her cheek, not caring if people saw. “I’d spank you into submission and you’d beg me for more.”

“Never,” her voice trembled, but she leaned into him.

“Don’t worry, sweet Avary. I’d never physically hurt you, in bed or out. I only offer you pleasure. I offer you heaven.” She jerked back and some of the wine sloshed out over the rim of her glass, landing on her fingers. “I’d like to lick the wine from your hand but imagine the rumors. I don’t want to cause too much of a stir, considering the evidence of my attraction for you is already obvious by the tenting of my slacks.”

“You’re—you’re…” Her lashes came down to sweep across the top of her cheeks.

“What, baby? Spit it out. Unless you want me to forego propriety and suckle your fingers amongst all of these fine people.”

Her cheeks were almost as colorful as the wine in her glass. She opened her mouth but a loud ding made her snap it close.

“Saved by the bell.” He smiled and saluted her with his glass. Seeing her flush only made him want her more.

Cover Reveal–Rhonda Lee Carver

There is something amazingly sexy about confident men who have money and power.

I’ve started a new series, The KNIGHT Brothers. These five brothers, and one sister, are from the same bloodline, but they are as different as night and day. After their father passes away and leaves each of them a house in different parts of the country, they believe that once again he’s used his money to influence their future negatively.

Theobald Knight wasn’t a hero father, but he did know best. Each inheritance holds a key to the past, present and future. From vineyards to lake houses to haunted mansions to a recluse living on a mountain who rides a Harley…you’ll meet these brothers who are brilliant, beautiful, arrogant and have ‘prideful swagger’.  Although sister, Angelina Knight, dies early on in the series, she plays a significant role that will change her brothers’ life and have them living a life they never thought possible.

UNEDITED Excerpt:

Avary leaned against him, realizing how close she’d been to falling face first on the ceramic tiles. Her embarrassment didn’t last long. It was exchanged for something else—something entirely delicious and haunting. He continued to hold her, her back pressed against his iron hard chest and lean hips. His scent swirled under her nostrils, reminding her of a fresh load of laundry coming out of the dryer—clean and fresh. There was also a hint of body wash—spice and musk. All entwined together made an aphrodisiac for her senses. Her knees weakened and allowed him to steady her.

“That was close,” he whispered near her ear, his breath sweeping across her cheek.

He didn’t release her and she didn’t move. Instead, he lifted his hand to her jaw and slowly brushed his knuckles across her skin, tracing the line to where her pulse beat rapidly in the hollow at her neck. His fingers moved along her shoulder, examining the trembling flesh, gliding the tip of one finger over the tiny strap that held the top of the gown in place.  He tucked his thumb underneath and gradually tugged it. The gown slipped low onto one breast. Her nipples turned to solid pearls. He skated his thumbs down her arm and she shivered, a whimper escaping her quivering lips. His breath grew hotter against her nape, his chest lifting and falling raggedly. He nuzzled her neck, his sandpapery beard rasped her sensitive flesh, but quickly forgotten when he brushed his lips against her ear lobe, lower to the spot where her neckline met her shoulder. She was at a loss, uncertain what she should do. She couldn’t move for fear that she would land on her face. And her body liked his touch, enjoyed how he erupted a cluster of sensations through her, over her, around her.

She felt his gentle touch on her wrist—the hand with the scar. She moaned in refusal, but he continued to take her hand into his, sliding his fingers along the length of hers, his thumb tracing the puffy red line. Sparks traveled up her arm and all she could do was stand there, allowing him to coax forbidden sensations within her.  He brought her hand to his mouth and he kissed the spot where the scar was reddest, where the knife had first entered her flesh, the deepest cut. Then he traced the line with the tip of his tongue, upward from her palm, over her sensitive wrist and stopping where the scar ended, kissing her again. Her veins quaked and her heart skipped ten beats. She’d never been held with such tenderness, with such emotion.

Watch for release in APRIL!

Release Day! Rhonda Lee Carver

by Rhonda Lee Carver

Final

I’m sure you’ve heard the statement, “Behind every good man is a better woman.” Or, “Behind every great cover is a greater story.” Well, I believe behind every piece of antique furniture is a story that is yearning to be told. Lately, I’ve become an antique nerd. I’ve bought several pieces, but I have a favorite.

This is a wash basin vanity/dresser that I can date back to the early 1900’s. I saw it, fell in love with it and brought it home to use as a vanity. It’s much prettier in person. Do you have a favorite piece of antique furniture, or even a modern piece, that you feel speaks to you?

Today is release day!!!!!!!!!

Smoke. Fire. Cowboy. (Cowboys of Nirvana, Book 3) is now available!

Welcome to Nirvana—your wish is a cowboy’s command.

Cowboy Paradise (Book 1) Ben and Cara
Ropin’ Trouble (Book 2) Chase and Kaycee
Smoke. Fire. Cowboy (Book 3) Jared and Sofie

A cowboy can always dream that a woman like Sophie Drake would turn his way, but from the second she came to work at Nirvana Ranch she’s treated Jared like spoiled milk. His reputation as a rebel and a womanizer doesn’t weigh in his favor, but he never really cared what people thought of him, until Sofie. Wanting her is enough to make a man go crazy. One night she shows up with a wine bottle and a lonely heart, and Jared is more than willing to help a lady out. What would any other red-blooded man do?

Yet, with the sweet comes the sour.

One night with Sofie leaves Jared hungry for more, but when he learns that she’s in love with the boss things might come to a skidding halt. This suddenly becomes a wicked triangle entwined with secrets, surprises and a sultry love affair.

Here’s a little teaser…

“Is it true you have a bull tattoo on your bottom and that each woman you’ve—,” she cleared her throat delicately, “you know, you get a slash on the bull’s bicep for each woman you’ve slept with?”

“I didn’t see you as the sort who participated in rumors, sweetheart.”

“How about the tattoo?” she asked.

“There’s only one way for you to find out.” He kept his gaze glued to hers. “Can you handle it?”

She was mute for the longest time, long enough that he thought she’d pull away, but then she saucily flipped her hair over one shoulder and turned her chin in a determined tilt. “I can handle it.”

He stood, gazes still locked, the color of her skin turning brighter as he undid the buckle. The metal loosened and clanked loudly. Slowly and deliberately, he pulled the leather strap out from the loops, his body growing harder.

Gag Gift–Rhonda Lee Carver

The holiday is over but the memories remain, especially the humiliation of a gag gift gone wrong.

It never fails, my best friend gives me a gag gift every Christmas. Last year it was fuzzy handcuffs, the year before penis pops. So, I decided if I couldn’t fight it, I’d try it. I wrapped my gifts, packed them up and joined her family for a Christmas get-together with all of her extended family. When it was time to open gifts we all sat around the livingroom and my friend handed out each person’s gift. I couldn’t wait for her mother to open the thick towels, and my friend to open her big surprise. I had even warned her to be prepared. Basking in my gift of, yet again, edible undies, I hear my friend say, “How prepared did I need to be for this?” I look up and she’s waving the expensive white towel in her hand–or rather, her mother’s gift.  I raced to figure out how the mix up happened. If my friend had the towels, that would mean her mother had…oh sh**!

Before I could react, her mother had her package open. “Look, dear, something I’m always glad to get.” She’s speaking to her husband whose smile faded and his eyes widened.

He told her, “Honey, did you read the package?”

Because she can barely see without her reading glasses, it took her a good twenty seconds to read the  details as everyone watched quietly. Her cheeks turned rosy and she smiled. “Chocolate penises.”

At this point, I was dying. I wanted the chair to engulf me.

Then something fabulous happened. She opened the package, took one out and bit into the chocolate. “So this is what they’re supposed to taste like.” Everyone burst out into laughter, my humiliation passed and we continued on.  I learned a valuable lesson…when wrapping presents be sure to glue nametags on securely so that they don’t fall off.

Smoke.Fire. Cowboy

Let’s talk cowboy…

I have a release coming January 27th. Smoke.Fire. Cowboy (Book 3, Cowboys of Nirvana) is up for pre-order. Here’s a little teaser to entice you…

“Come on, Jared. Tell me you don’t feel something between us. A mesmerizing draw, an emotion? If you say you don’t feel it, then I’m a bigger fool than I first believed.” Her deepest, darkest fears came to the surface. She hungered for him, but for more than just sex. She craved to have his arms wrapped around her, comforting her when times were tough. Hear sweet nothings whispered into her ear. She ached to feel his love encompassing her. Have him make love to her every night.

It was a fantasy. One that she wanted to turn into reality.

He moved closer, his face within inches of hers. “You’re going to be the death of me, sweetheart,” he whispered.

“That wouldn’t help either of us.”

“It definitely won’t hurt us either.” He reached into his pocket and withdrew something. He held up the item, dangling her bracelet from his forefinger.

“Where did you find that?”

“Under my bed. You must have dropped it.” He took her hand and laid it on his thigh as he placed the chain across her wrist, hooking it. “This…I haven’t seen the charm on here before.” He tapped the cowboy hat.

She nodded. “I found it while I was in town. Did you read the inscription?”

He swallowed. “I did.”

“I only attach charms to this bracelet that mean something to me.” She touched the chain. “Things that have made me who I am today.”

He blew out a long breath and his mouth came down on hers, hard and desperate. His tongue forced her lips open to allow him entrance. She obliged and wrapped her arms around his neck as he dipped in and out of the recesses of her mouth. Nerves awakened, new ones, and she wondered how that was possible. Oh, she knew exactly how. She’d crossed an invisible boundary within herself. She’d gone from wanting to screw Jared, to caring for him…and then falling in love. The knowledge sparked eagerness. She let her tongue glide along his, dueling, matching his need.

His hands threaded into her hair, tugging her face back to allow him deeper access. He pulled away and lowered his mouth to her neck, licking the sensitive skin, leaving a moist trail to the pulse in the dip at her neck. She succumbed to him, every fiber of her yielded to him. All links to her past were freed. She tangled her fingers into his hair, rolling them along his scalp, pulling him, determined to never let the moment end.

“Aww, baby, you taste so good—smell like a field of wildflowers after a heavy rain.”

“Yes! Keep doing that,” she whispered.

His fingers slid along her bare leg, higher to the apex of her thighs. He sucked in a deep breath. “My God, woman. Please never put on a pair of panties again.”

She chuckled. “I swear, I didn’t plan to have your hand up my dress tonight.”

“Where else would my hand be?” he muttered.

Boudoir pics–by Rhonda Lee Carver

A friend who does boudoir photography has been after me for a year to have mine done. I dragged my feet. Not because I don’t see the need because I think every woman should feel sexy–see herself as sexy. A talented photographer can find the sexy side.

Okay, so, I finally decided I’d let her do the shots. I told her up front that I wanted classy, sensual shots.  They had to be tasteful and no chance of damaging my kids for life if they accidentally found the pictures. She told me she’s heard that very same request a dozen times. And, there are a lot of mommies proud of their post-baby bodies. Hooray for curvy women!

Here are a few things you should know…

  1. The camera doesn’t love me and the feeling is mutual.
  2. I am my worst critic.
  3. I always get nervous when I know I’ll be in front of the camera.
  4. Oh, did I mention I’m my worst critic?

The big day arrived. I packed my outfits, which was pretty light considering you don’t wear much. I hadn’t eaten but a small amount the day before, or that morning. Bloating and the boudoir don’t mix. By the time I arrived at her studio my stomach was turning and I was repeating the mantra Don’t throw up! Don’t throw up! I didn’t, thankfully. In fact, after the first set (we did a total of 400 pictures) I was comfortable and actually started smiling.

Here are a few more things you should know…

  1. Don’t sunless tan before you go (not the night before, not two days before…). Just trust me on this.
  2. Take an ibuprofen. You’ll use muscles you never thought you had. I felt like I’d run a hundred miles the day after.
  3. After looking at the pics, I’m glad I did it. If you do it too, make sure you find a photographer you trust and are comfy with. I don’t think my husband had ever seen me in some of those poses.

Who loves a great holiday story? Who loves a great deal? If you said yes, you’ll love Ring In A Cowboy. Nine bestselling authors are bringing you nine sexy stories of cowboys. It’s up for pre-order now!

Here is my contribution to the boxed set:

Excerpt:

“Come here, sweetheart.” He lifted her across his lap and his bulging zipper rubbed her bottom.

Her secret parts throbbed and filled with heat. Come? Yes, she wanted to come. But the need burrowed deep in her wouldn’t be satisfied by her own fingers as she’d done over the years. Self-pleasure was the only way to stay emotionally detached, but all of the vibrators and toys in the world didn’t entice her like Storm.

She kissed his chin and cheek, and licked his ear lobe. A tense groan vibrated his chest and shot straight to her inner thighs. Yes, they could have sex. What was stopping them?

GIVEAWAY! Sex Dreams–Rhonda Lee Carver

Sex Dreams…

Don’t we all have them?

Every which way we turn we see something related to sex. So it’s only normal that we have sexy dreams, and sometimes with people outside of our partner. This doesn’t mean we want to run out, find this person and get laid. I think it can mean different things for different people. Recently, I had a wild & crazy dream about SOA’s Ryan Hurst.  He has thick, long hair, bushy beard and he’s a rough MC man, so the attraction is obvious, but no…really…no. I watched every episode of SOA and not one time did any part of my body spasm, moisten or tweak when Ryan came on scene. I’m not saying that he’s not handsome, he just isn’t my normal type, whatever that is…just not his character in SOA. In the dream he was very “take charge” and attentive. He was very gentle. Caring. But a freak in the bed. LOL.

Welcome to Nirvana—your wish is a cowboy’s command.
Kaycee Darling has one thing on her mind…getting the juiciest, most provocative stories that will boost her career as a journalist. Setting her sights on Nirvana, Wyoming’s fastest-growing retreat for the high-society, she won’t stop until she’s proven the R&R is nothing more than a romanticized meat market for the lonely of heart.
Chase Sever believes he’s finally taken care of the journalist who has been breathing down his neck and can start concentrating on the expansion of his pride and joy—Nirvana Ranch. He doesn’t have time for romance, but when a sassy siren arrives at his ranch, he suddenly has a clear schedule. She’s smart, bubbly, and has a body that could make a cowboy melt in his boots, but he suspects there’s more to her than meets the eye. Is she really who she says she is?
She has Chase right where she wants him, but what she finds might change her beliefs on Nirvana, compassion and love…or she might have roped in more trouble than she can handle.

Excerpt:

He was gentle and loving as he touched her like she was an expensive harp and he was the musician. She could practically hear the music.

He dipped a finger into her navel, swirling the tip of his pinky inside of the cave, then slid his fingers to the slit between her thighs. He parted her seam, moving carefully into the nest and rolled the pad of his thumb over the beaded flesh. She cried out, digging her fingers into his shoulders.

Her skin tingled, burned, blood scorching. He pushed a finger into her opening, then joined it with another, until he filled her–stretching her. He moved his digits in and out, thrusting slow then faster, and slowing again. He played an erotic game with her senses, taking her higher, only to bring her down, but only to take her back to a higher plateau. This was all new to her, an ocean of dangerous waves without a life jacket. The desire pounded her, tempting her, dragging her out where she must give herself completely, without reserve.

She trembled in his arms, clinging to him, holding him close.

“Say my name, baby. Say it!” he urged.

“Chase. Chase!”

“I love hearing you cry my name. I want it to be the only one you ever call out.”

9 cowboys/99cents!–Rhonda Lee Carver

The holidays are approaching fast. The leaves are changing just in time for Halloween. Have you carved your pumpkin yet? Once Halloween has passed, Thanksgiving sneaks up on us and then the busiest holiday of the year–Christmas. I haven’t bought one present–not one! Why do I do this to myself? Well, you see, I’ve been busy over the last few months preparing you a feast of hot, sexy cowboys to get you through the holidays. Love me yet? I sure hope so.

First up is Ropin’ Trouble (Book 2). This gorgeous hunk of desire in hat and worn boots will be available November 30. Chase Sever, owner of Nirvana Ranch, will make you forget that you ate too much turkey and sweet potatoes. You’ll be so engrossed in this cowboy you’ll forget there’s an extra pumpkin pie and whipped topping in the fridge with your name on it–unless you can come up with a calorie-free dessert to dollop that whipped cream on. I’m sure you have lots of ideas. Chase is up for pre-order, so grab him and it’ll come to your Kindle like a knight in shining hat and boots.

SNEAK PEEK:

An elegantly dressed woman approached Chase and he acknowledged her with a smile, the charming one that rang Kaycee’s bells and blew her whistles. He slipped off his hat, pressing it against his chest, right over that part of him that was protected by a barrier of ice. He had a head full of wavy black hair threaded with silver strands at the temples. She guessed he was in his late thirties, maybe early forties, but he was in tiptop shape. Not an ounce of fat or middle-aged bulge could be found on his trim body. Her investigative side sure wanted to find out…

The pretty blonde touched his arm and they stepped to the side, partially out of the way from being shoved. Was the chic trying to pick him up? Kaycee sniffed in irritation. She’d lived here a long time and finding a date was  impossible. He was standing on the busy street all of ten minutes and he had women coming out of the woodwork–or rather concrete. Figures.

At thirty-four, Kaycee realized things weren’t as fair for women when it came to age. She worked out at the gym three times a week, took the stairs and walked to work, and if she ate one cupcake—chocolate mocha, her favorite—she’d gain five pounds. Her older brother worked out at the gym too, but could pile away an entire buffet and not gain an ounce.

Cowboy turned and she automatically dropped her gaze over his fine, rounded bottom. Of course he’d have a nice, tight riding ass. What cowboy didn’t? He probably spent most of his day riding in the saddle and bringing much pleasure to women who adored him. Sex was the trick! A few years ago, she’d written a story that every thirty minutes of sex burned off two-hundred calories. Maybe that was her real issue. No sex equaled more weight. Too bad that would be a problem not easily remedied.

He shifted and squinted in the morning sunlight. Aha! The man did have a flaw. The bump on his nose was proof that it’d been broken once or twice. From what she’d heard, he’d been dumped off a bull’s back quite a few times back in his rodeo days. So why didn’t that noticeable crook in the bridge of his nose take away from his prominent, high cheekbones and chiseled jaw sporting a hint of dark stubble? She’d bet he was one of those men who shaved every morning but by early afternoon he had a beard. He was just that manly.

She turned her head from side to side, narrowing her eyes. He looked a lot like someone—oh…yes…like Colin Farrell. His dark features and rugged appeal could make a woman think of all sorts of naughty, but fun, things. No wonder he was the bachelor of the year.
