The Country Doctor’s Bride – Available for PreOrder #HistoricalErotica by @AnitaPhilmar

I’m excited about this book because it’s the longest book in the series so far.

Like Deputy’s Bride, the Country Doctor’s Bride has a murder and mystery, along with hot sex scenes.

Dixy is a woman, hoping to go home to Georgia, but finds herself at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Witness to a murder, she is forced to stay in Naked Bluff, Texas until Deputy Kildare checks out her story.

But who wants to let a complete stranger stay with them when a murderer might be out to kill her?

Luckily, Doctor Nathaniel Murphy is more than willing to let the beautiful lady stay with him but he wants more than a few days.

Can this couple make it work?

Official Blurb:

Country Doctor’s Bride

With no ties to Texas, Dixy secures a ride to the next town on her way out of the state. The driver, Tobias Poe offers to let her rest. While she’s in the back, he is shot.

Rushing to save him, she arrives in Naked Bluff, Texas.

The town’s doctor, Nathaniel Murphy can’t save him, but he can save her?

Penniless, alone, and now a murder suspect, Dixy has no alternative but to accept his help.

Can this couple build a future together or will someone silence her before she can identify the murder?

Excerpt:

Unexpectantly, Nathaniel turned. “Look, you appear to know
about taking care of people who are hurt. Most would never have tried to stop
the flow of blood by applying a compress.”
Darn, she’d forgot her bloomers were
covered with blood too. Disheartened by the thought, she didn’t contemplate her
reply and blurted out, “My dad was a doctor. I helped him in his practice.”
“You’re hired.”
Blinking at his sudden offer, she shook her head. “I can’t.
It wouldn’t be proper for me to stay here. I’m not married.”
To make sure she fully understood his living arrangements,
she added, “Perhaps you’re married? And I haven’t had…”
“No, which means this will work out perfectly. We’ll simply
tell everyone you came here to marry me.” He walked to her and captured the
hand she’d lifted to clutch her chest.
“What are you nuts? I don’t even know you.” She fought the
sudden whirling sensation of her world spinning out of control.
“Are you familiar with anyone in the area?” He wrapped his
other arm around her waist and pulled her to him.
“No, my father died of a fever several months ago. Now, I’m
heading back home to Georgia. I have a few distant cousins that still reside
there,” she muttered, confused as to why he’d even make such an idiotic
suggestion.

“Good, this is the perfect solution to both of our problems.
You’re looking for a place to live, and I need an assistant.” He didn’t give
her a chance to respond. Instead, he swept her up into his arms and walked up
the stairs.

My Valentine’s Day and 99 cent Sale!

I think my husband, aka Stud, is a very lucky man when it comes to Valentine’s Day. He can’t buy me chocolate – I’m allergic. He can’t buy me flowers – I’m allergic. (Plus, I’d get really mad at him for spending money on something that costs a lot and lasts a week at best.)

I do like going out to eat, but not during holiday times with big crowds and feeling rushed as the next wave of people breathe down your neck. So what’s left?

Cheap and easy. Yup, that’s me.

For our very first Valentine’s Day, back when we were first dating, I had to attend a funeral of a close family friend. Stud came over to my house later that night, bearing homemade lasagna. Over the years, we’ve come up with different variations of this, with one or the other taking the reins. It kind of depends who needs the other to step up more at the time.

This Sunday will be our 27th Valentine’s Day together. It’s one of the years that I’m stepping up because I have a need. I need to cook and have it matter. Since we became empty nesters, my cooking has done a bit of a slide. I still love to do it, but it’s just not necessary to put full meals on the table every night for two people.

Well, this weekend, my son is bringing two of his college roommates home with him for something that has nothing to do with Valentine’s Day, but I get to fill the house with good food. These poor guys have existed on really bad college food (most is bad, theirs is REALLY bad) for months. I get to change that this weekend. Strange as it sounds, Happy Valentine’s Day to me!

Great Zeus by Dalton Diaz
Oh My God by Ashlyn Chase
Two Gods are in big trouble with Zeus. Gods will be gods and when these two taunt a fire goddess for their own entertainment, she erupts, literally, creating a whole new Hawaiian island. But Zeus is not amused and must teach them a lesson they won’t forget. Who knew their punishment would lead to finding the loves of their lives?

Great Zeus by Dalton Diaz
Epimetheus knows he screwed up. Well, he knows it since Zeus pointed it out with a lightning bolt or two. He’s willing to take his punishment like a Titan, but all bets are off when his beloved dead wife Pandora shows up. Pandy has no memory of him. Epimetheus has no powers, and no forethought. What could possibly go wrong?

Oh My God by Ashlyn Chase
Rewritten and expanded version of 2009 Eppie nominee, same title

The Greek God of wine, women, and party, falls off a balcony during Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Now he has amnesia. All he knows is that they call him ‘Big D’, he drinks too much and ought to give up alcohol for Lent.

Mandy and Brenda flashed Dionysus right before he fell. They’re nice enough to take him to an AA meeting, and then back to their homes until he recovers his memory. Fortunately, they’re not too nice to be naughty.

RAISE A GLASS- Talina Perkins

index

2015 was crazy in just a few words. With only a few hours left in the year it’s hard not to take a moment and reflect on what has passed, but also look forward to what is in store for you and myself as the clock rolls over. I’ve never been a big believer in new years resolutions, but I do think that a mental reset is always a good thing. A fresh start, a chance at starting over, and a full 365 days of making sure this year is better! It’s exciting to think about, right? There are a lot of plans in motion for me and I’m biting my nails to keep from pouring everything out on the page right now! Since I have to be a good girl, let’s talk about what you have planned for the new year. I’d love to hear anything you want to share. 🙂

Wherever the new year finds you, may your wishes and dreams come true! Happy New Years my friends and thank you for hanging out with me and inviting me into your hearts with my stories and characters. I have so many more to tell and I can’t wait to share them with you soon. I’ll be back on January 4th with a special post and maybe a giveaway. 😉

Be safe, raise a glass, and welcome the turn of the clock with a smile and a wink!

Carnal Summer Pleasures: An Angel Payne Random List

It’s no naughty secret. I love Summer in just about every way, shape, and form–but one of the hugest reasons is that there’s now a perfectly legitimate excuse to sing my praises about all my sexy indulgences. Not that I save them for summertime, okay?–but now, everyone’s just more interested in hearing about them.

There’s no ascending or descending order here. I love them all! How many do you agree with? let me know in the Comments section and I’ll send you a signed paperback copy of my newest contribution to the Summer Indulgences pile: A WILDER KIND OF LOVE–THE WILD BOYS, BOOK 7 (Releases on June 16th–READ ABOUT IT HERE!)

junepost1TODRICK HALL’S YOUTUBE CHANNEL: Toddy Hall is a creative genius who is going to be discovered SOON by the world–and then all of you will say that I told you so here first. You want to really check out “The Wizard of Ahhhs” that he did with Pentatonix!

junepost2HOT SUMMER READS besides “THAT one”, in no particular order: BIND by Sierra Cartwright (June 9)….TAMING DEX by Zoey Derrick (June 9)…DARE TO ROCK by Carly Phillips (August 4)…MASTER NO by Lexi Blake (August 4)….SERVICING THE TARGET by Cherise Sinclair (July 28)

junepost3ANNA LOVE! I’m obsessed with Anna Kendrick. PITCH PERFECT 2 is really THAT good. As long as I’m on an “I’d pay to make out with Anna Kendrick” tear: THE LAST FIVE YEARS is a movie NOT to be missed. You will laugh, smile, bawl your eyes out. SO good.

daniel3DANIEL LOVE! Yes, I’m also obsessed with Daniel Di Tomasso–and not just because he once took the time to Direct-Tweet back to me (though yeah, I’m still swooning). He’s just THAT talented. And THAT awesome. Binge-watch “Witches of East End” and you’ll be eyeballs-deep in the swoonage with me. Better yet, let’s all make SURE they cast him as Gideon Cross, then there’ll be naked Daniel to swoon over, too.

junepost5RWBY: I owe my daughter for turning me on to this American anime show that features some of the coolest storytelling, especially if you were ever, or still are, a Twi-hard, Potter-head, or fan of martial arts. The initials stand for 4 heroines patterned loosely on fairy tale characters (R = Red Riding Hood, W = Snow White, B = Belle, Y = Goldilocks), and there is that far-away land feel to this, as well. Even for grown-ups, this is a great animated show.

junepost4SAN FRANCISCO: I’m working on a new book based in the City by the Bay, and every shred of research reminds me why it’s one of my favorite places in the world. Even setting an entire book series in the city won’t allow me to do it justice. If you’re on the west coast, don’t pass up the chance to visit–and fall in love with–this incredible, beautiful, romantic, city.

Okay, now YOUR turn to share! What are some of your own guilty pleasures, indulged in Summer or not?

My True Valentine’s Wish…

69post4It was an interesting Valentine’s Day this year.

I guess I was more “aware” of the holiday because of all the foo-ra-ra surrounding Christian Grey’s cinematic debut into the world, a media frenzy that saw the poor man lifted up and lusted over by billions of fans, while simultaneously torn apart by the critics who “just didn’t get it”, in the words of same said fans.

I’m not here to add to the pile any further…but only to say this. I think it’s wonderful that for once, FOR ONCE, the words on everyone’s lips are “sex”, “satisfaction”, and “needs” instead of hype about how many villains the latest Spiderman confronts, or how spectacularly the White House gets dynamited, or how many people got shot, knifed, or blown up in the newest Bond film. (By the way, I mention all of these examples because I’m a diehard fan of anything super hero, political espionage, or James Bond, not to mention a healthy handful of others that make my husband a VERY happy man when it comes to movie date night.)

69post1

But…what the hell is wrong about a healthy discussion, on an international level, about the secret cravings we all have as lovers…and the chance to explore them in a relationship built on trust, honesty, and exploration? This is one of the core reasons I love to write erotic books…and to show them happening with couples who do, indeed, struggle with some of these issues–but also decide together that their love is worth pushing past those issues, and triumphing with sexuality that is more open, beautiful…and sexy.

This Valentine’s Day, I’ve chose to remember that beyond all the hype about this holiday, there is a bigger theme at play. Not just love–but the things that build it to begin with.
