Alpha & the Holiday–Rhonda Lee Carver

Hi y’all! Rhonda Lee Carver here!

I can’t believe that Thanksgiving has gone by and soon it will be Christmas. I’m almost finished with my shopping, thank goodness. I so dislike going into stores and finding no one with any holiday cheer. People scooting around, pushing their carts, and being rude just because they’ve had a bad day…month…or maybe year. Kindness doesn’t cost anything.

I’ll tell you a funny story.

I was in Sam’s Club a few days ago and there was an aisle display  with two comfy, soft, thick, lovable blankets. Oh, by the way, I love soft, cuddly blankets as much as I love shoes. There was a blue one (which I already have) and a red one. Standing a few feet away a couple were arguing over which color of blanket they should choose. He said, “The blue matches the bedroom”. She said, “But I love the red.” I was standing close, my eye on that red blanket. My fingers were aching to stroke the material like my new favorite pet. I waited. And waited. They still fuss. I was growing impatient. A friend of theirs happened by and said “hello” and without thinking of the consequences I snatched up that blanket like a thief in the night and took off like a bat out of hell. I jumped behind a stack of roasters and peek. The arguing couple were no longer arguing. They were looking around like, “What the hell just happened?” I moved along with my pretty blanket and felt justified.

Later, as I stood in the check out line, I saw out of the corner of my eye that couple was beside me and she was eyeing me like I had toilet paper sticking out of my pants. I told myself, “I didn’t do anything wrong.” Yet, I felt guilty. She was staring, not at me now, but at my red, comfy blanket. I wondered momentarily if this would end up like one of those crazy, chaotic videos where people are fighting over stuff they won’t use in the next year.

Then it became too much. I grabbed that blanket and placed it off to the side as if I’m no longer wanting to take it home and snuggle and watch a Hallmark movie. She snatched it up. And I continued on. I came home and ordered one online.

Now let’s talk books.

His Weekend Wife (The KNIGHT Brothers Book 2) is releasing 11/29. Have you pre-ordered your copy yet?

Blurb:

As a girl, Ash James wanted a knight in shining armor to carry her away and together they would live happily-ever-after.

And then she grew up and waiting tables at a greasy diner blemished her fairy tales.

Her idea of a perfect prince matured and she had an appetite for alpha: sexy, muscled and scintillating. Declan Knight was everything she wanted—everything she found mysterious. When he walked—no, strutted—into her life she was ready to throw uncertainty, and her apron, out the window.

Her knight put a ring on her finger and whisked her away to the ‘castle’ where she settled in nicely, until she soon realized every prince can turn into a toad. Before long she was back wearing a faded uniform, living on tips and scrimping to get by. And keeping her sister out of trouble. Sometimes deadly trouble.

Fate has a plan and her name is Angelina Knight. How will Declan’s late sister play the role of fairy godmother? How will Declan save Ash from someone who is out to harm her?

Will Ash see that sometimes a toad just needs a kiss…a touch…and endless nights of passion to turn him back into a prince?

The last thing she expected were glass slippers and a storybook romance…but the miracle of the holiday will surprise her.

Country singer, Storm Rich, finds himself in a snowstorm on a back road of the Tennessee hills. He’s late for a show and his manager is breathing down his neck. Just when he thinks things can’t get any worse, he swerves to miss a dog and hits the ditch. But an angel comes to his rescue…

Charlie Lindon has suffered heartache most of her life and this Christmas is no exception. After the loss of her daughter she’s never quite been able to pick up the pieces of her broken heart and move forward. However, fate has a gift for Charlie that won’t fit under the tree.

Stuck in the small town, far from home, on Christmas Day, Storm finds refuge, but he’s faced with helping an angel with a broken wing. He’s always been good at flashing his wide smile and dimples and ladies falling all over him, but Charlie isn’t the swooning type. Yet, looking into her eyes he sees more than a distant, shattered woman. He sees beauty, kindness and a fiery spirit.

If they make it until New Year’s Eve, a magical kiss might turn a Christmas fantasy into reality.

Previously published in the boxed set, Ring in a Cowboy. Added scenes make this holiday novella more delish and longer.
