When did books with sex in them become SMUT? At what point did the world decide that anything with the words cock and cum in them were too dirty for the masses?
There’s been a lot of talk of censorship on various book sites, and I know some authors have become painfully aware that the erotic romance genre is still seen as the red-headed step child in the publishing world. For me, it’s an interesting puzzle. Men are expected to enjoy porn, because they’re “visual creatures” and women are assumed to be “intellectual creatures,” but we’re not supposed to like reading about sex? Anyone else see the problem here?
Anyway I’ve decided that SMUT is no longer going to be a bad word. (If someone could decide it WAS a bad word then I’m equally entitled to change that.) With your help, I want to come up with the best mneumonic device for SMUT.
