Hot Hauntings by Guest Blogger Jezebel Jorge

I’m thrilled to be able to drop by and smut up Sunday with such a deliciously talented group of authors. As a bit of an introduction, I like to call my genre of choice, Witch Lit ~ Sizzle and Spice and some things Not so Nice. I’m a practicing witch and medium with a very close bond to my spirit guide, Odessa.

 photo skin_zps0f984125.jpg

When Odessa isn’t off playing with her snakes she loves to tell me naughty stories about her escapades with Graham and Roger, the two men she loved in her past life. After recounting her stories and having the pleasure of channeling both them I’ve developed a rather intense dead guy crush on both these men.

An visit from Roger starts with being enveloped in an intoxicating scent. I don’t don’t know how to describe it other than he smells like sex. I get lightheaded and have to stop whatever I am doing. He wants my undivided attention in much the way he first seduced Odessa. She was only sixteen and he was the forty year old world wrestling champion. She claimed to be eighteen and professional working age was listed as thirty-three.

Roger was a platinum blond with bronzed skin and a muscled body. He had a voice to rival Frank Sinatra’s, right along with a cocky personality to match his top status in the wrestling business. On the other side, as in his previous incarnation he’s quite the manipulator. He was a master of using his sexual poweress to get his way with the women he found worthy of his affection.

Odessa definitely qualified as worthy. She was a five foot ten willowy strumpet, all legs and pale flawless skin, with long red hair that fell to the curve of her ass. Everyone I’ve spoken with who saw Odessa as a living person tells me she was breathtakingly beautiful. Both men and women stopped and stared when she walked into a room.

‘Pussy Power’, was a term Roger coined with Odessa in mind. She was the one woman he was never fully able to control and that is probably why he always carried a torch for her.

Odessa always refers to Graham as her beloved. He was there to pick up the pieces when Roger ended their relationship, leaving her stranded in Florida with less than a month to find a way to get by without being the great Roger Rohde’s plaything.

Graham was a ruggedly handsome man with a dimpled smile that lit up his face most every time he looked at Odessa. She was drawn to his powerful charisma and the way he was always there to take care of her. He was the very air she breathed.

Yet, there was always Roger lingering in the shadows. Just when Odessa would think she was over him, he’d melt her resolve and get her back in his bed. Graham knew of her flings with Roger and for the most part tolerated it because that is how much he really loved her. And I suppose he knew all along that he was the one who had her heart.

If you’d like to see more sparks flying in this fated love triangle, Odessa and have two short erotic novellas priced at only $1.99.

Under My Skin ~ Roger once again shows up when Odessa is the most vulnerable and seduces her with some light bondage and promises of their finally being together. Graham, as usual, picks up the pieces when he finds Odessa still bound to her bed. She begs for forgiveness by offering up one of his favorite treats, her ass for his taking.

The Lady Is A Tramp ~ A young Odessa is overwhelmed by her first visit with Roger to an underground burlesque club in New York City. Especially after she learns of both Roger and Graham’s connection to the club’s voluptuous owner and performer, Katie Hurst. |

Another sexy book coming your way.

Next month, I’ll be releasing another fantasy/paranormal erotic romance entitled Hardened Desire. I thought I debut the full excerpt for today’s post.

Hardened Desire_sm

What could Luc Mercier, a gargoyle who’s more than a century old, possibly have in common with modern introvert, Gillian Harris? Loneliness and isolation.

When meddlesome friends bring the two together, neither is prepared for the flurry of emotions nor revelations that overwhelm them. That is, until Gillian stumbles across the truth and struggles with how she let her guard down.

Learning to love again has never been harder.

Was he for real or what? Gillian mused while driving back to her High Park apartment. The stranger’s eyes captivated her, but also warned her not to get too close. There was something peculiar about his mannerisms. Who the hell actually kisses a woman’s hand when first meeting her these days? The age of polite men and chivalry only existed in history books and romance novels, and her life was anything but a romance novel.

Lizzie had crossed the line. What the fuck! Lizzie would be one dead chickie the next time Gillian saw her. If she wanted a date, she knew how to get one herself. Hell…the last thing I ever wanted was to be hand-fed a man.

Let alone the fact that she really didn’t have the time for one. It was bad enough this meeting put her into over-time, she still had work at eight in the morning. Yet, despite the inconvenience of this impromptu mini date—if you could call it as such—the man was charming in a distinguished sort of way.

Luc exuded a confidence that frightened her. Perhaps her inexperience with men dictated her apprehension, yet her inquisitive nature led her—or more accurately—dragged her on. She wanted to know more and understand what really attracted her to him in the first place.

Gillian backed into her designated parking space, narrowly missing the lamppost, utterly distracted by tonight’s events. She rushed into the building and ascended the staircase with expedience. She needed to talk to Lizzie and make sense of this, not to mention address the issue of her meddling.

Stepping into her apartment, she tossed her purse and briefcase aside and sought out her phone. Dialing Lizzie’s number, she kicked off her pumps and strode to the kitchen in hopes of finding wine, a cooler, anything. Anything to get her to relax, instead of freaking out. If there was ever a need for a stiff drink, now was one of those moments.

“There had better be a good reason for you to call and interrupt me,” the out of breath and exasperated voice answered.

Gillian squeezed her eyes shut, dumbfounded, pulling the phone away from her ear and smacking the hardware against the counter before returning it to her ear.

“Ugh! What did I ever do to you, Gillian?” Lizzie mumbled.

“Are you kidding me? What did you ever do to me? First of all, if you were in the middle of anything that involved being naked with a man, it’s your own damned fault for answering the phone. Secondly, I seem to recall a certain gentleman being directed to find me at Paradisio under your advisement. And don’t you dare tell me that you did nothing wrong!”

She hated being furious with Lizzie over this. She knew that good intention was meant, but if she didn’t draw the line at some point, she really had to wonder what was next.

Her friend scoffed then cleared her throat. “Listen, Gillian, first of all, I thought I was doing you a favor. And yes, I am in the company of two men…and yes, I said two. By the way, you should try it sometime. The man I sent to you seemed genuinely disappointed that he didn’t see you at the café tonight. Honestly, when are you going to learn to let go and live a little?”

So… What do you think? Have I intrigued you?

Tag Team Beauty Queen

Oh my. I do apologize for my tardiness. My week has been crazy with church, Lent is really big at my house and multiple services, family issues and work…why it’s no excuse life still goes on.

I come bearing a shiny, well at least it is to me. 🙂 This is book two in the Love Smackdown Series, Tag Team Beauty Queen. This is also my first menage. I hope you like it.

Alexa has always followed her heart, but when her feelings lead her to bed The Tag Team duo of Perfect Storm, well she’s in heaven. That is until another wrestler threatens their happy balance.

Tono and Daniel, known as Perfect Storm, don’t mind sharing Alexa. In fact, they’ve embraced all the pleasure a threesome will bring. When a heel and fellow wrestler, Virgil, decides to bring his villainous ways outside the ring, all hell breaks loose.

With the relationship in jeopardy the guys scramble to defend their beauty queen’s honor and show Virgil why they’re the champions.

“I can’t wait to see you outta that dress.” The speaker had a deep, husky voice almost like someone with laryngitis. He curved an arm around her waist and hauled her close.

Alexa grinned and ground her butt against the bulge. His fingers splayed across her abdomen and held her gyrating form still for his thrusts.

Delicious shivers wiggled through her veins and pulsed at the apex of her thighs. Alexa had to make sure Daniel was okay with what she had in mind before she let him take her out of her dress. A smile twisted her lips. His warm breath tickled the curve of her neck and tightened her nipples.

“How bad?” She turned to face him, running her hands along the solid wall of his pecs.

His teeth gleamed white against his smooth chocolate skin. He grabbed her hand and placed it on his erection. “Does that answer your question?”

Heat cruised her cheeks. She should know better than to ask him questions like that; still the rigid maleness straining against her palm had her squeezing her thighs together.

“You haven’t changed your mind already, have you?” Mischief twinkled in his coffee-colored depths.

Silken Canvas print available for pre-order!

I’m babysitting my four month old grandson today, so am a little late posting. Multi-tasking is the name of the game today.

My erotic romance, Silken Canvas, has been available as a download since December 25th. It will be out in print November 5th. I’m thrilled it’s already available for pre-order on Amazon.

I love pre-order, don’t you? Love when I open my Kindle and discover a new book there. It’s like a fun little gift, something I’ve often forgotten all about. Something I’ve been eagerly looking forward to and I pre-ordered it so I wouldn’t forget.

He can work with her body…as long as he doesn’t touch her heart.

Brendan Cole burst onto the art scene in a blaze, creating erotic works of art from beautiful women. Recently, though, reviews suggest that his brilliance is burning out. He knows what’s missing—inspiration. He lost it the day his ex-lover and muse, Ashley Mancuso, walked out on him.

Together, they can once again create the erotic images that will silence the critics forever.

When Ashley runs into Brendan at an art gallery, their attraction is as hot as ever. Though she swore to never again take second place to his art, she finds herself agreeing to an impromptu photo shoot. Once in front of his lens, five long years of suppressing her kinky side melts away—and shakes her resolve to keep it strictly business.

One spellbinding session after another makes it impossible to resist talking of fantasies and long-buried desires. But once the images hit the gallery walls, all the fears and insecurities that drove them apart create a rift wide enough for danger to find its way in…

Warning: Contains a sexy, tortured artist, his gorgeous muse, and a string of pearls that creates one very erotic BDSM fantasy.

Silken Canvas got 4 stars from RT. “Moore has given readers of erotica something to enjoy. With sizzling characters and an actual plot, she has crafted a story that both entertains and thrills.”
I can’t wait to hold one of these books in my hand and stroke the gorgeous cover. 🙂 So if you want your own print copy of Silken Canvas, you can pre-order it now so you won’t forget. Or you could download the e-book right now if  you can’t wait.

Welcome Guest Blogger Siobhan Muir!

When Savannah Chase and Em Petrova offered me a spot on 69 Shades of Smut, I literally had a *SQUEEE* fangirl moment. I get to be on the blog with Randi Alexander and Lea Berrymire? Woot!

*happy dancing at the keyboard*

Ahem, so yeah, just a little excited. I loved the name of the blog because it has such a controversial title – at least in terms of perception. The word “smut” often has a derogatory meaning, similar to words like “bitch”, “whore”, “tramp” and “slut”, but it’s all a matter of perception. I freely admit I read smut. Granted it’s well written and has great storylines, but there’s sex in it and it’s usually hot and explicit.

Does that make me a tramp or a whore? Perhaps. My husband calls me his slut with great affection, mostly because I walk around in corsets to tease him. I don’t take offense because he means it with admiration and acknowledgement of my enjoyment of sex. Changing perception isn’t easy and can’t actually be done – each person has to decide for themselves how to take something. But you can offer a presentation of something to help them make the change.

For example, my last Siren release was Queen Bitch of the Callowwood Pack. My father suggested I might want to change the title because “bitch” is a pejorative term. I thought about mellowing it to “Luna of the Callowwood Pack”, which would have been accurate, but it didn’t have the same punch as “Queen Bitch”. Besides, the character is the Alpha female werewolf. Who else could be the queen bitch of a werewolf pack?

In my upcoming release, A Hell Hound’s Fire, coming out April 2nd 2013, Alex MacLaren isn’t your average werewolf. photo hellhoundSM_zps2ecdb534.jpgHe has the ability to set himself on fire to take down demons from the underworld, but he’s required to live alone because he’s perceived as evil. The perception has kept him safe from roving mobs of fearful people, but it’s also kept him lonely. When he’s asked to protect Sarah Flanagan and her young son from a demon, he figures it will be a quick job and done. Sarah changes his perception pretty damn quick and gets an eye opener of her own. Here’s the blurb:

Love can be found in the most unlikely places, even the heart of a Hell Hound.

Alex MacLaren figures he’ll never find love again after his mate dies. As one of the rare Hell Hound werewolves, his chances are slim to none. And slim went home. When the local Morukai shaman calls on him to protect a lovely Irish werewolf and her young son from demons, he can’t help but take the job.

Sarah Flanagan is desperate to save her son Liam from the deadly monster trailing them, but she’s out of options and places to hide. She lost her mate the last time she encountered a demon, and with Liam depending on her, the stakes are far higher this time. After meeting Alex, she’s not sure about the Hell Hound, but she’s no fool. He’s their best hope for survival… and hers for another chance at love.

It all comes down to perception. Can Sarah see Alex as more than evil? Can Alex see Sarah as the salvation of his heart?
What kinds of moments have you had where your perception of something has changed?

How do you like your threesomes?

I’ve been recently working on a new erotic romance series that will be releasing later this year, which means I’ve been up to my eyeballs in a hot threesome. Wow, that didn’t sound nearly as strange and dirty in my head as it looks on my computer screen. But you get what I’m saying. Now I’ve made it no secret I adore writing menages. The complexities of a threesome romance are a challenge I love taking on, and let’s face it, those smexy love scenes are helluva lot of fun to write. In the past I’ve been asked if I prefer writing committed menages where everyone involved gets a HEA together, or a menage where two  of the characters end up together and the third maybe gets his/her HEA in the following book. The honest truth is I love writing both kinds of menages. Completely depends on the individual characters. For instance, a committed threesome was out of the question in That Voodoo You Do.  Griff made it perfectly clear he was willing to tolerate Logan up to a certain point,  but anything beyond that, guess who would have been eating werewolf hamburgers for a month.

On the other hand, there are characters that I know from the start will be seeking a HEA together. Ry, Lacey, and Bram from The Naughty List are a perfect example. From the very beginning I knew there was only one way to write their story. Then there’s occasionally the characters who throw me for a complete loop by choosing to follow a path I didn’t originally see for them. Case in point, my upcoming book, Three Ways to Wicked. The one I’ve been up to my eyeballs in. I initially intended Three Ways to be a m/f/m pairing, but within a few pages, Ty and Gibb made it known that they were just as hot for each other as they were for my heroine, Kayla. Since I’m never one to stand in the way of two sexy men setting the bedsheets on fire however they please, I decided to write the story how they envisioned it. And I’m so glad I did, because once again, the characters were way ahead of me when it came to telling their story. Guess it pays off to listen to the characters when they’re screaming loud enough. In and out of the bedroom. 😉

So how about y’all? Do you prefer your threesomes a certain way? And just for the heck of it, here’s a super exclusive peek at an unedited scene from Three Ways to Wicked. Be warned, a bit of naughty man on man action ahead. Continue reading

So you want to write erotic romance

I don’t know what I thought would happen when my first book with Ellora’s Cave came out. I don’t remember having any expectations. All I remember feeling was violent happiness. I got to share my story with the world! I most certainly didn’t expect for loved ones to start dying on me or how devastating an effect it would have on my personal and professional life, and how much the publishing industry in general and the erotic romance market in particular would change while I sorted out my soul and wrote another story for EC.

I know I had visions of one day writing full-time, visions the ever-changing, ever-expanding publishing scene blurred quite effectively as I tried to get back in the game. Don’t quit the day job, then. (And if you call it an evil day job, and mean it, please consider looking for something you don’t hate with a fire just in case you’re stuck with it.) My work has always involved language, text and words in one form or another. It’s always allowed me to do what I love, which is write, so it’s never been tedious. (OK, maybe sometimes, when I would have rather let my more creative side loose.)

Then again, you’ll never know if you don’t go. All-in, balls out. It’s just that…for every selling author, there are a thousand and one, ten thousand and one, who hardly sell at all. (Their stories may be just as good, even better than the popular ones. And still.) For every poorly selling author, there are one hundred thousand and one who never get a publisher. Or should I say got. With the self-publishing option available to anyone who can follow instructions, everyone can be a published author. (Their stories may, note: may be so much poorer than yours. And still they’re out there.)

If you dream of writing erotic romance for publication, and above all for a living, be advised: You are coming in to a market where the reader is spoilt for choice. Publishers, self-publishing sites and subgenres galore; established authors, newbie authors, self-published authors galore. Cyberspace is infinite so there really is room for everyone’s story. That’s not the problem. There’s also plenty of room to get lost, feel lonely, never be seen or heard, and that may pose a problem.

Then again, if you’re writing because you love to and it’s all the same to you how your book does as long as it’s out there, then, well, it’s all the same to you, isn’t it? But if you expect to see a big return on time and effort invested, please remember: the number of titles published is on the way up, sales on the way down, and pirates bear no resemblance to a cuddly Captain Sparrow, they are as ruthless and heartless as Davy Jones. Many published authors make fun money at best. Most of us writing ebooks have been pirated. All of us write because we love it and who succeeds and to what extent is a bit like playing darts in the dark. You never know what will stick and who you’ll hit.

Lack of large backlist notwithstanding, I’ve spent several years in the know, my eyes and ears open. So. This much I know. If you’re about to submit your first story or if it’s already been contracted and you have visions of fortune and fame, two words: survivorship bias. Look it up. Just so you’re prepared. Anything can happen. Nothing much might.

My debut came out the same day as Laurann Dohner’s. She is now a NY Times and USA Today best-selling author. Some other EC authors who were starting out around that time… They’re gone. I’m not sure where and I’m not sure why and I guess their reasons are none of my business, but there’s one in particular I was damn sorry to see disappear because of how good she was. An excellent author all-around.

I don’t want to discourage you. I want you to be prepared. If you are, none of what I just said came as a surprise. If you’re not sure, two posts you may want to look at to assess where you stand, what the odds are and how to improve them: agent Rachelle Gardner on volume and variety. And if you’re on the self-publishing path, agent-turned-author Nathan Bransford is recording his experience and dispensing wisdom on his mighty fine blog.

This is my last post with the 69ers. I want to thank everyone who’s stopped by, read and commented on the ramblings of this southern girl from the north, and I want to thank my partners in smut for the fun we’ve had and shared and wish you every success. I’ll be rooting for you! This ain’t an easy business but if you got it in you, it’s worth your best shot.

I think I have something in my eye. Or maybe I’m just allergic to goodbyes. This…you…all of it, will always be a dream come true. Hang on to yours, dearest 69ers.

Hoping for a smutty reunion, with love and smooches,

Danica Remembered To Blog!

Hey y’all, I remembered to blog on my day this month. Yay!

Let’s get down to the nitty-gritty, shall we? Readers and writers have things that really disgusts them when it comes to books. It’s what makes this business ever-changing and being a reader both awesome and annoying. I loved reading the blog this month because I found myself nodding at several points. First person POV is one I don’t particularly enjoy, but there are some exceptions. The ew factor in sex scenes is one that’s purely subjective and while I see the point, it all depends on the reader and their experiences.

My personal peeves? I’m more likely to toss a book away if a main character dies, or proves too stupid to live, or is too weak to stand on their own. I’m more into the characterization and the story than what genre or POV they’re written in. If the story is good (as in it appeals to you), you’ll barely even notice which POV it’s in. I’ve had that happen to me a few times. I became so engrossed in the character that I didn’t care it was first person. The same for some sex scenes. If it fits the characters and what they’d do, then I’m okay with how they express themselves in bed. I don’t think “Where’s the condom?” or “Is he tasting his cum on her lips?”. I think “They’re so sexy together!”

Characterization is my biggest issue with books. How can you love a story if you hate the hero or the heroine? I try my best not to write characters like that, but then again, it’s all subjective, isn’t it? A heroine I think is hilarious might be too abrasive to someone else. A hero I see as dark and brooding can seem serial killerish to another reader. I’ve heard ‘you can’t please everyone’ and it’s the complete truth.

Which means I know some people are going to despise my newest release, Dean’s List. Some of my loyal readers will probably want to burn it because it’s nothing like my usual work. It’s not a paranormal and it isn’t a regular romance. It’s a contemporary EC for Men. And it has nothing to do with love and everything to do with fantasies. But I like the story, like my hero and his many heroines. And I suppose deep down, that’s all that matters.

 photo deanslist_msr_zpsc0b3ab15.jpg

A quick romp in his home office with his family upstairs. A roadside quickie in his car after picking up a stranded motorist. A dominating woman who uses and abuses him in the most delicious of ways. These are just a few things that make Dean McKnight the luckiest man alive. Top it off with a successful career, a wonderful family and a hot, adventurous wife, and Dean couldn’t be happier.

With the option of having a different beauty every night of the week, Dean’s list is packed with women who fulfill all his darkest fantasies. He just never knows which one will show up next.
