Food, Fun and Family

Christmas, for me, is snow and family. I love spending time with my loved ones. A couple of our traditions is to open gifts at home, then travel to my Dad’s for breakfast. Driving to Dad’s is a little more treacherous in the winter months as we live an hour and fifteen minutes away, but we make the trip, faithfully. One of the best things about this gathering is food, fun, and family.

My husband and children are usually the first to arrive and while he and the kids socialize I head to the kitchen to help Dad cook. Maybe I should say take over cooking. 🙂 By the time my sister arrives we kick Dad out the kitchen and get down to business.

The meal isn’t complicated, bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, french toast and my sticky buns. The sticky bun recipe can be found in the Passionate Cooks cookbook.

Have you ever seen grown folks fight over food? Or rather sticky buns? That’s part of the fun of going to Dad’s, watching my step-mom, sister and brothers all fight over who’s going to eat the last few rolls.

After breakfast, it’s time to open gifts. This is also one of my favorite parts. All ages are represented from itty bitties to high schoolers. And all the kids play nicely with one another. Not sure how that happens, but it does.

Food, fun and family the best thing about Christmas.

The holidays can be murder. Someone is out to kill Michaela Winters, but she has more important things to worry about, arguing with her husband and when to tell him he’s going to be a father come to mind.

Brockridge Logan realizes the mistake he’s made and he’s willing to make amends. His solution is to whisk her away to their cabin up north where he can seduce and keep her safe.

When an ice storm closes the roads and traps them in the middle of nowhere for the duration of the holidays. A marriage will be mended, but will it be too late with a killer on the loose.
