Where in the world did 2012 go?

WOW! I seriously cannot be alone, in wondering where the year went. As we begin to say farewell to an unforgettable year for many reasons–personal, professional, and international news wise–I think the one thing we that makes us an incredible species, is how we continue to push ourselves forward.

2012 proved to be an extremely trying year for myself professionally and artistically. Right when I was ready to give up and running out of options of what to do next, the universe decided to grace me with a few opportunities. I’m grateful for having a patient family, who allow me the ‘alone’ time I need for writing. I’m over the moon, in having found a publisher who believes in what I do. And most of all, I’m forever indebted to the friends I’ve made along the way on this journey. The key to anything we do in life is never to give up. If you fail the first time, pick yourself up, and try again. I read a really interesting interview with everyone’s favorite cover model Jimmy Thomas, which kinda sorta inspired this post. Check it out here.

In 2013–so far–I am committed to bringing you my readers, the very best that I can give you. That’s not my only New Year’s resolution, but it’s one I thought you’d want to hear. Be sure to check out my debut release in March, A Gift From Fate, as well as Hardened Desire will also be out in April. While both are paranormal shorts, I assure you, I’m working on a very special and hot historical romance series for regency fans everywhere.

Do you have any resolutions? Quit smoking, run a marathon, go back to school? I’d love to hear from ya. And keep in mind, no resolution is too small, and every effort counts. So if one of your goals is to hit the gym six days a week, and you only make it four times, don’t beat yourself up. Shit happens for a reason, but if at least keep working on it, things are bound to work out.

Let the Countdown Begin

As 2013 fast approaches I look back over my year and have to say I’ve been truly blessed. The number of books published and contracts received for 2012 outnumber what was done in 2011. I attended a book conference, a couple of book signings, met several Facebook friends, traveled, achieved a couple of silver stars and even made the Amazon best seller list a time or two.

I also learned reviewers don’t like “cliffhangers” even if there’s a full story involved, everyone doesn’t like me (no surprise there) and I have even less patience than I had a year ago.

2012 was a wonderful year for me and 2013 is shaping up to be fantastic. I’ve stepped outside my comfort zone a few times and look forward to gathering even more knowledge. As my schedule grows busier and the muses toss more plot bunnies and my bff’s muses have decided to toss ideas at me too. (What’s up with that? Like I don’t have enough people living in my head already) Anyway embrace the change and newness of 2013. The sky is the limit.

Until next time, Indulge Your Inner Romantic.

Oh and I have a free read releasing January 4 from Evernight Publishing.

Pressures from work have kept Nathan from seeing his girlfriend the last two weeks and he knows she’s not pleased. When he finds her in his office wearing a smirk and little else he can only hope she’s there to show him the error of his ways.

Shauna understands that Nathan’s job is important to him, but so is she. She hopes a private session in his office will remind him of the passion they share. There’s more to life than duty…there’s pleasure.

Welcome Guest Blogger Tina Donahue

What a year this has been!!

For those of you who don’t know me well or who haven’t followed me on various sites, I’m a working author. That means, I write everyday of the year except for Christmas Day. In addition to that, I do have a full-time EDJ (Evil Day Job).

However, writing is my first love.

This year I’ve had numerous release with two of them published this month. Come Fill Me, erotic paranormal and Book One in The Prophecy series, released December 18 from Samhain Publishing.

Losing Control, Book Two in my Appointment with Pleasure series for Ellora’s Cave, releases today.

For me, that’s the greatest holiday gift of all!

Here are the blurbs and brief excerpts from both books. Enjoy!!

Two men will stop at nothing to have her gift, her desire…and her love.

Years ago, with the healing abilities afforded by her blend of Aztec and extraterrestrial blood, Liz was free to do as she wished. Now she is trapped in a blood feud, forced to heal one of her clan’s most dangerous rivals so they can exploit his gift of prophecy.

As she drapes her nude body over his, the rush of his returning strength overwhelms her, and his stunningly sensual caress pushes her to her sexual limit.

Zeke Neekoma never expected to hunger for a woman he’s supposed to hate, but now that he’s tasted her, he has no intention of denying himself the pleasure of her body—or of kidnapping his enemy’s most cherished plaything.

Brought to Zeke’s stronghold to heal his brother, Jacob, Liz surrenders her body’s most traitorous needs to the unrestrained desires of two powerful men. And the brothers fill the lonely void she has too long endured.

But her clan doesn’t intend to let her go without a fight…and the ecstasy that binds Liz to her lovers could be the thing that breaks them.

Product Warnings

Worlds collide when two Alpha males crave a woman they shouldn’t have. Their dominance and desire knows no limits, culminating in sex so torrid this babe’s never gonna be the same…or free of one brother’s touch.

Naked, he lay in the center of the king-sized bed. His breaths were quiet, his eyes closed, legs sprawled, one arm draped over his head as though he was sleeping.

The bullet holes in his muscular left pec contradicted that notion.

Forcing down a swallow, Liz pulled her attention from his wounds—three perfect black circles—to his face.

Her lips parted on a quiet sigh. Rarely had she seen a man wear such a look of serenity. So unlike the terror she’d witnessed on Carreon’s features or those of his men when they’d been so close to death.

Zeke Neekoma was different. The words boyish and innocent came to mind, which Liz dismissed quickly.

Looking to be in his early thirties, he was no boy. Nor was he innocent. His size, surely six-three, his sharp, masculine features and powerful form were perfect for battle against men and carnal sin with women.

Heat suffused Liz, making her limbs feel heavy and weak. She recalled what Carreon and his men had told her about Zeke, no doubt a mixture of truth and lies. Not knowing which was which, she regarded his sinewy legs, long cock and weighty balls as she moved deeper into the dimly lit room. Spanish-style lamps created pools of honeyed light, giving the space a sacred feel one might experience in a church. The cherry-wood four-poster dominated the sparsely furnished chamber, while a series of leather wing chairs—reserved for observers—circled the bed.

The man who’d been guarding Zeke left the room. Carreon and his men went to their seats, their weight causing the chairs’ legs to scrape against the polished hardwood floor.

For one foolish moment, Liz thought the intrusive noise would cause Zeke to open his eyes and lose his blissful expression. That he’d ask why they’d pulled him from such blessed rest and what appeared to be happiness.

This man didn’t want to be healed. Liz knew it in her soul; saw it in the upward curve of his beautiful mouth. Was he the same as her father, tired of fighting? Or was he welcoming the end so he could reunite with someone he’d loved?

His parents and siblings, perhaps…or a wife.

Liz studied his cock, its root nestled in a bush of black curls, his testicles lightly furred with short, dark hairs. Ones many women had surely licked, tasted, enjoyed, given his rough good looks and virile form.

Images rose in Liz’s mind. She pictured him standing before her, his size and manner imposing but not threatening, allowing genuine arousal, not feigned obedience, to guide the act. On her knees at his feet, she’d tend to him, cradling his sac in her palm, allowing its wrinkled skin to rest against her birthmark that proved she had the healing gift.

Would he sense the spark of energy her touch generated? Would he pull her power into himself?

If he did, Liz knew how she’d respond, parting her lips to deliver pleasure, drawing her tongue down his cock’s base to its plump head, tracing the prominent veins that snaked over the thick column, tasting its faint saltiness. Within her caress, his rod would lengthen and harden.

Gratified at what she’d accomplished, she’d inhale deeply, filling herself with his musk, indulging in its unique fragrance as she licked his crown. Silky beyond expectation, the succulent flesh would fill her mouth as she coaxed him inside, opening her throat so he could slide into her, as deep as a man could go.

He’d struggle against release as most men did, but her mouth and tongue would work him as her cunt never could. On an unrestrained growl, he’d climax, and she’d accept his thick, salty come, delighting in it.

A new rush of warmth stung Liz’s chest, traveling to her belly and sheath. A pulse ticked deep within.

When it comes to passion, there are no rules…

She wasn’t supposed to hunger for him. Tim Bellamy was off-limits to Catherine, a high-priced call girl with an uneasy past. Indulging in his raw desire shouldn’t have happened, especially at a District party attended by the nation’s elite. Tim doesn’t know she works for the agency. If he did…  That’s not something Catherine wants to confess. Drowning in his strength and heat, aching to see him again, she keeps her secret.

From old wealth, Tim has never met anyone quite like Catherine. Exotic, elegant, earthy, she’s the best of all worlds. Their evenings are sensual delights where voyeurism, bondage and a growing bond satisfy carnal needs and stir something deep within…until he stumbles upon the truth.

Shaken by her lies, Tim needs to prove the depth of Catherine’s lust and yearning once and for all. For him, their erotic adventure has only begun…

He was the one man she’d been forbidden to meet…to sleep with, exploring her most pressing carnal needs. With him, there would be many. Deep, hungry kisses, the feel of his nudity confining hers. His body hot, hard, demanding. His clean skin scented with musk.

At the thought of what she wasn’t allowed, Catherine Oliver whimpered.

He didn’t hear. He was in the foyer, at the bottom of the mansion’s sweeping staircase, one of tonight’s party attendees, not yet aware of her presence.

Good sense told Catherine to slip back into the powder room where she’d checked her makeup and hair a few minutes before. A group of women exited the spacious room now, some young, others matronly, all decked out in pricey gold necklaces, shimmering diamonds, rubies, pearls, designer silks and velvets. They left a trail of subtle perfume in their wake as they moved past her and the landing to the far end of the hall. Expensive fabrics swirled delicately around their ankles, a perfect match to their well-bred murmurs and subdued laughter.

Beneath it, Catherine heard Alexa Marsh’s warning in her mind.

“Tim Bellamy might be at the party this evening. He’s bad news, believe me. Stay away from him.”

Catherine didn’t retreat, not taking as much as a step back.

A lifetime of having others say she couldn’t do this or couldn’t be that had nurtured a stubborn streak. It and pure will had propelled her from less-than-humble beginnings to this Georgetown estate tonight. What she knew of Tim Bellamy—along with seeing him in the flesh, so to speak—kept her rooted to the spot, curious, needy for more. She trailed her fingertips over the polished mahogany banister, imagining she was touching the hard planes of his chest, his strong arms, his cock stiffened for her alone.

God, he was something.

In his early thirties, he wore his dark blond hair cropped short on the sides with a bit of length at the top. After a few minutes of bed play, those thick locks would surely tumble over his forehead. His eyes were gray, his features masculine, downright aristocratic, a strong jaw and rich mouth. The kind a long-ago ruler might have owned, his deep baritone equally impressive as he ordered his newest concubine…an untried virgin…to pleasure him or else.

On a quiet sigh, Catherine leaned against the rail, drinking him in.

Despite his blond hair and ashy eyes, his complexion was a healthy bronze, as though he’d recently spent time in sun-drenched climes rather than the District’s dreary winter. It wasn’t hard to imagine him naked on a beach, his lean, muscled body flexing with each step he took across the sand, or him riding a horse bareback, his strong thighs hugging the animal, the breeze tugging his hair.

A wave of warmth radiated from Catherine’s chest to her face. She gripped the rail, unable to pull her attention from him.

His expensive tux draped his frame perfectly. He was a tall man. Six-two according to the dossier the agency had on him. One she’d gone through repeatedly, drooling over his photos, impressed by his education and that he’d turned his back on his family’s business to carve out a career of his own. Not only had he succeeded in that endeavor, those on the Hill respected him. Whether his stand on issues was popular or not, he was a man others knew would never go back on his word. He never promised what he couldn’t deliver. He didn’t lie.

Catherine liked that and wished she could say the same about herself, rather than watching him like some sicko voyeur. It was all she was allowed and it wasn’t nearly enough. Neither were the details she knew about him from his file, compiled shortly before he and his friends, Hunt and David, had spent an evening with Alexa, with Hunt falling for her. At the time, Alexa was one of the most popular young women at the escort agency and had called herself Magique.

She now ran the place, gathering information on clients, making certain none of them were weird or would harm the escorts. Whether Hunt liked her continued involvement in the business or not wasn’t something Alexa spoke about. However, Catherine knew Hunt would never allow another man to touch Alexa again. He’d wooed, then claimed her for his own.

Catherine tried to imagine such devotion for herself, a man wanting her no matter where she’d come from, how she earned her living now.

Sexy New Year’s Resolutions!

I have to say, I’m not really a “make a new year’s resolution” kinda gal. Frankly, I don’t manage to keep any I make, so I don’t bother anymore. Especially because mine usually involve not eating potato chips. It just doesn’t fly.

However, it occured to me that keeping sexy new year’s resolutions could be very fun indeed. And even if one makes a mistake, try, try again, as they say!

So what would my recommendations be for a sexy resolution? Well, read on!

1) Kiss more! Read a few romance/erotic romance novels and I’d bet you’d find reams dedicated to kissing! Tender pecks, deep kisses that stir your soul, kisses of longing and pain and ecstacy. There’s a reason we write this stuff. Kissing is good! And think where it could lead…

2) Tell your partner you love him/her, at least once a day. I don’t know about you, but I never tire of hearing this sentiment, and could hear it in a multitude of different ways, and wouldn’t grow bored of hearing it. It’s important to hear it, but also to say it. We want to be on the giving and receiving end of this one.

3) Try something different. Okay, maybe we don’t all have a sex swing in our living rooms. Perhaps when we hear the word “Dom”, we just picture that Italian guy we went to high school with. Maybe we don’t all live in the fast and sexy lane. That doesn’t mean we can’t mix it up here and there. There’s nothing that quite puts the light in a man’s eyes as suggesting you visit the sex toy shop together. Try it. You might like it.

4) And most obviously, pick up a romance or erotica novel. You’d be surprised at how well reading one of these books can spice up your life. One of my readers told me she read one of my books with her husband and he thanked her for it later! Let your fave romance author take you to some new places, or discover a new author or two this year! And then go ahead and try to recreate some of those steamy scenes!

I’d like to wish you all a very healthy and happy new year, and also wish to say a big thank you to the group of people that is 69 Shades of Smut. It’s been a terrific year, and I’ve been so privileged to share it with you all.

Where Has The Year Gone?

Purchased from/ Copyright (c) 123RF Stock Photos

With the holiday season among us we are getting to spend extra time with family and friends. It also makes us reflective. Well maybe I get reflective. Not sure about you. This year our holidays kinda got messed up due to the fact that everyone came down with the flu. We had this family gathering planned that had to be canceled due to the fact that well the house is barely alive and honestly you don’t want guests when you are sick.

People don’t want to be there either…

as I sit trying to catch up on some work that I have missed due to the bug it made me think about the last year. All the ups and downs of my career as a writer. The lessons I’ve learned.

Te people I’ve met…the opportunities I have been blessed to have..

I keep saying to myself that 2013 will be even bigger as I take a new journey with my career and start to dip my toes into new ponds. Am I nervous? Yes…but I’m willing to take the step and learn. Do new things and grow as a writer and as an author…most of all as a person.

I never expected this past year to be the way it has but honestly I would not change it..I learned a whole lot about myself and where  I want to go.

We as authors work hard to live our dream of creating stories and bringing something special to the reader. We never have a set plan or a vision of how it will all be. Most the time it is a surprise to us as well with how things turn out.

I want to take this time to thank everyone who has supported me and been there all this time. You are always in my heart and I hope that you continue to come along on this next leg of the adventure with me.

stay naughty

Merry Christmas from Guest Author Lily Harlem

Wow, am I excited to be here today!! Thanks so much for inviting me to 69 Shades of Smut so I can say a very big and juicy Happy Christmas to all you lovely smutters.

I hope Santa has been good to everyone, though of course you might not want good, some of you, I’m sure, enjoy a little bad! I’ll be me in that category then, I love to read and write naughty romance. You can find out all about my work on my website –

Now I know everyone likes freebies, so I thought, soon as it’s a special day, I would send you in the direction of some reads that won’t cost you a penny – I’m English, cent doesn’t roll off my tongue. So lets chink glasses, grab another mince pie and get going…

Now we all know that one of the ways to a man’s heart (or a woman’s for that matter) is through their stomach. So why not grab yourself a copy of Passionate Cooks?

Over one hundred, myself included, erotic romance authors teamed up with All Romance eBooks to create this tempting recipe book, and much like romance novels themselves, the dishes range from spicy to sweet. There is something for every taste and every level of culinary expertise. The cookbook includes New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Mari Carr’s “Wild Irish” Cream of Crab Soup recipe. Western GBLT author BA Tortuga contributes a dish as spicy and colorful as the straight-shooting author herself with Ranch Hands—a blend of Tabasco, salsa, onions and cumin, added to pinto beans, eggs, Canadian bacon and cheddar cheese and served in a tortilla. And for those of you who are feeling extra creative and sexy, there’s the Avocado Dip that doubles as body paint from mystery writer Marcia James.

Some recipes are simple, such as Down Home Mac & Cheese, while some are more exotic, such as Spicy Shrimp Risotto. There are even some gluten-free selections, like the Sweet and Spicy Gluten-Free Lo Mein-ish Noodles from erotica author Sommer Marsden. And a few are perfectly for Halloween, such as Tracey H. Kitt’s Gamberi del Diavolo or Shrimp of the Devil. Be sure to look out for my recipe, Welsh Rarebit, a delicious cheesy snack to enjoy after a long walk on a frosty day.

Did you know that Ellora’s Cave have a free section of books? If not then you’re on to a winner here. Check out all the stories on this page – . Again look out for me, I have a free short story called Stockholm Seduction. I wrote it a few years ago and had so many reader requests for the full-length novel – ultimately called Stockholm Surrender – that I got my head down and let these edgy, dangerous characters talk to me again. So if you enjoy the free short story, (now included as a prologue in the novel) check out the rest of Ty and Penny’s global adventures. Stockholm Surrender has had some great 5* reviews which you can check out here –

I also write for Total-E-Bound, and they too have a selection of free stories up for grabs. You’ll find some great names offering you a taste of their voice by following this link – – and check out my steamy tale Unhealthy Obsession!

Don’t forget there is always the FREE Amazon list too, that changes on a daily basis. I was lucky enough a few months ago to hit the number one spot on the chart with a co-author book I wrote with Natalie Dae. Good Cop, Bad Cop is a steamy ménage novel that certainly seems to hit the spot with readers! –

Natalie and I have written together a lot this year, our first novel, That Filthy Book, sadly not free, has had some amazing reviews, including ‘Every woman should read this book.’ Naturally that thrilled us and encouraged us to keep writing together and now we have Anything For Him contracted by Mischief at Harper Collins. I feel very privileged not to be only writing with Nat, but also able to call her my friend and confidant. And I hope in years to come, when we have many more co-author titles, we will be able to look back fondly on That Filthy Book and say remember when…

Talking of Mischief books, check them out, no absolutely free books as I write this, but lots at an incredibly reasonable price from first rate authors you definitely should check out if erotica and erotic romance is your thing –

Well, that’s it for now, in regards to free reads. But if you fancy some free eye candy why not check out my Pinterest boards. . I got a bit carried away this year collecting hot guys and sexy stolen moments. There are just always more to find!!! Do follow me on Pinterest, grab my pins for your own boards (because they’re not mine really!) and have fun.

Once again, happy Christmas, enjoy your day, whatever you’re doing. Whether you’re busy in the kitchen, sitting with your feet up in front of a roaring fire with a good book, or wrapped up warm and walking through the woods holding hands with your special someone. Eat, drink and be merry!!

Have Yourself a Sexy Little Christmas + a giveaway!

Well here we are, Christmas Eve. Crazy, right? I don’t know about you, but I’m a terrible procrastinator when it comes to Christmas shopping. All I can say is good thing they created the internet. Otherwise there’s a 99% chance everyone on my list would be stuck with whatever I can find at the 24 hour drug store in town. Not that the 5 gallon jug of Riunite will go to waste. *cough*

If you’re a last minute shopper like me, and are unsure what to pick up for your special someone this holiday, I’ve compiled a list to help you out. And for you book lovers, I’m sweetening the deal with a giveaway. One commenter will win their choice of an ebook from my back list just by leaving a comment on whether you’ve been naughty or nice this year. I’ll be cross-checking with Santa’s list, so no trying to pull a fast one.

And now for those permanently on the naughty list, I proudly present:

Jodi’s Top 5 Sexy Gift Ideas

1) Couples massage. You can either splurge on a trip to the spa, or crank the heat up a few notches by lighting some massage candles and giving each other the sexy rub down in the comfort of your own bedroom. Don’t forget to crack that Riunite on ice, you naughty lovebirds.

2) Lingerie. I’m assuming this works best for the ladies. But gents, if you feel the need to get in touch with your feminine side, I won’t judge. Unless we’re talking pink lace and Hello Kitty. Cause really, that’s not a good look on any guy in existence.

3) Toys. No, I’m not talking Rock ‘Em Sock ‘EM Robots and Nerf guns. Though God knows those are on my list. Nope, let’s think sexier. Maybe the OhMiBod might be in order. The vibe’s intensity syncs to the music on your IPod or other playlist. So when Justin Timberlake swears he’s gonna Rock You to the break of day, he’s not just whistling Dixie.

4) Erotic Poetry. Yes, even you can be a poet who didn’t know it. With the Erotic Magnetic Poetry Kit it’s easier than ever to whisper dirty sweet nothings to each other via the fridge. Just don’t be surprised if you have hard time keeping the ice cubes from melting. Which will be completely unhelpful with keeping the Riunite chilled, unfortunately.

5) Sexy Board Games. You too can be a Bedroom Rockstar as you Entice each other in a wild game of Bedroom Baseball! Ball and bat sold separately…

And there you have it, folks. A veritable smorgasbord of sexy gifts that will make St. Nick even jollier than usual, the kinky bastard. Just don’t blame me when you start wishing Christmas came more than once a year.

TheNaughtyList72LG 200x300

Available from Samhain  Amazon  B&N

Makin’ a list, and rocking it…twice.

Perpetual good girl Lacey McGuire has two Christmas wish lists. One suitable for public consumption…and a private one that’s too hot to handle. Right at the top: wild, wicked fantasies about her best buddies and business partners Ryan Hollister and Bram Colton.

Besides the fact they’re both poster boys for Hunks ’R’ Us, they’ve been there for her through thick, thin and the heartbreak of a cheating fiancé. So what if her boys will never know they star in her sexiest daydreams? In her fantasy world, her heart will never get trampled again.

Ry and Bram are pretty sure Lacey never meant to email a list of some of her raunchiest wants. Particularly the one that tightens their shorts—she wants a threesome. With them. Although they’ve loved her for years, they made a pact to keep Lacey off limits in order to protect their friendship. Now all bets are off. And the quest to give her all she wants—and more—is on.

Warning: This book contains a wickedly hot M/F/M ménage that will heat up the holidays. Friends steaming things up in a hot tub. Bondage and blindfolds. Sexy shenanigans at a Christmas tree lot. And maybe even a glimpse of Santa…in a Speedo.

We have a winner!

Season’s greetings from the top of the world! Scandinavians start earnest celebrations on Christmas Eve (this is, after all, Santa’s very own subcontinent) so I’m knee-deep in holiday preparations as we speak. And hiding in plain sight from said duties chatting with you for a moment.

I want to thank my partners in smut for the good times we’ve shared this year. Can’t wait to see what you come up with next! I especially want to thank everyone who has stopped by the blog to read and comment, celebrate and commiserate. Don’t be strangers in 2013, you hear?!

I hope I’ve managed to entertain you. I hope that whatever is hurting you soon hurts you no more. I hope that those who are alone can still appreciate the break the holidays bring. I hope that wherever you are, your holiday spirit runs high. I hope that in the spirit of that spirit, unless your goal is to one day be the wealthiest body in the boneyard, you give as good as you get.

Be good, be grateful, be kind. Have fun! All-in, balls out, guilt-free. As Erma Bombeck put it: “Seize the moment. Remember all those women on the Titanic who waved off the dessert cart.” Enjoy!

Wishing you peace, joy, and peace of mind,

With love,

Whoa, hey lady, come back here, where’s that gift card? Got ya! I wish I could have given everyone something, so let’s do this again sometime. For now, boy am I glad I didn’t have to decide. I asked Santa’s sexy helper (remember him?) and he said…

Susan, stand by for a message from yours truly madly deeply.

See you all again next year!

Smooches plus the warmest of hugs,

The End of the World

And if you’re here, I’ve just made an ass of myself with that title.

Yup, I’m back and it…apparently isn’t the end of the world. Which means the twelve men whose asses I pinched last night thinking I wouldn’t suffer repercussions will be contacting the police today and have me arrested. I hope y’all didn’t do something similar. If you did, I’ll be seeing you in the slammer.

Before that happens though, I’m going to admit a very horrible secret about Christmas and holiday stories…I don’t read them in season. I never do. I always seem to read Christmas stories in the Spring and Valentine’s Day stories around Thanksgiving and Halloween stories…well, all year-long. It’s weird. I never seem to be in sync with the publishing industry, which is fine with me. I don’t read something just because it’s about the upcoming holiday. In fact, I think I prefer not to. My holidays never turn out like heroines of the books I read.

That doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy holiday stories. I do. But I’m not reading one at the moment. I’m actually reading this:

It’s not exactly a holiday story, but it makes me happy. I do like books that combine humor and emotional torture and zombies. You gotta have something with zombies! It’s the end of the world! Really. Okay, it isn’t.

As for the shopping and Christmas spirit…yeah, I’m not feeling the latter and exhausted from the former. Why is it we drive ourselves insane trying to get the perfect present, braving the crowds and putting a big dent in our wallets when the person getting the present will forget about it in five months? Oh, they’ll love it and adore it and hug it and squeeze it…but after about four or five months they’ll no longer wear it/use it/look at it and then it’ll be time for Christmas all over again and you’re right back where you were before.

Am I ranting? No. I swearz I’m not.

I’m going to go drown my Christmas present anxiety in eggnog and tinsel. Happy Holidays my friends and stay thirsty smutty!

Back To the Farm Where Smut Grows on Corn

We’re heading back to the farm! The in-laws run the family farm about four hours from where we live. We are lucky enough to have a house there just for us. It’s a cozy little one-level with enough bedrooms for all of us.

For me, it’s a great opportunity to write. Once I get them all fed and out the door to climb on tractors, play with the barn cats, and poke around on the lakeshore, I get lots of words on paper.

The family knows I write romance novels, but I’ve never shared them with the folks. My SILs read inspirational, and would probably faint if they read one of mine. And that’s fine! Everyone has different tastes in what they read.

Heck, I’d probably be dang embarrassed if Kick’s family read some of my love scenes. Adult toys, floggers, handcuffs and blindfolds. It’s better to keep my two lives separate.

From now on, back at the farm, when we talk about smut, it’s the fungus that grows on the corn, and definitely not the naughty romances that Kick’s wild wife writes!

What secrets do you keep from your family? Anything…smutty??? Leave a comment for your chance to win a digital copy of Cowboy Jackpot: Christmas.
