What Would You Like To Ask These Sexy Men?

Jimmy Thomas

Theo Theodoridis

Brooks Johnson

We will be inviting cover models to guest on 69 Shades of Smut, and ask them to answer interview questions. We have a few questions already, but we’d like your help.

We want to come up with a huge list of questions relating to everything from personal grooming to smutty bedroom kinks, and let the model answer any of the questions they choose.

Here are a few to get you started:

photo shoot

  • What goes through your mind during the photo shoots?
  • Do you have a favorite cover?
  • Do you recall your first shoot?  Were you nervous?
  • How many photos are taken during a typical photo shoot? Out of that number, how many actually pass the muster and are deemed a usable image?
  • Is there a particular outfit or prop that had unexpected consequences?
  • What do you prefer, studio photo sessions or going on location, and why?
  • What’s the most unique photo shoot you can remember?
  • Is there a cover or concept you’d like to portray that you haven’t yet accomplished?
  • Why did you choose the romance genre?
  • Do you ever become aroused while in a photo shoot? It seems to me, with the lack of attire and body part proximity, it might be a given on occasion…
  • Have you ever dated someone you met while on a photo shoot?

  • What genre of books do you read?
  • Do you get the same ridiculous inappropriate questions/comments from people (fans, friends, family, etc) that we erotic romance authors get? You know the questions we’re talking about, things like “Do you do all the sexual stuff your characters do in your books?”… I guess the equivalent for a cover model would be “Do you get to ‘do’ all those models?”

  • As a little boy, what did you want to be when you grew up? A cowboy? An astronaut?
  • Was modeling something you pursued or did someone point you in that direction?
  • What does your family think about your work?
  • Boxers, briefs or commando?
  • What kinds of foods do you eat and how often do you have to exercise?
  • Are you straight or gay?
  • Married, in a relationship?
  • Dom or sub?
  • Have you ever been compared to Fabio?
  • If you wrote an autobiography, what would the title be?
  • What’s an average Saturday night like for you?
  • Describe your perfect date.
  • Sports or reality TV?
  • Shaving or waxing?
  • Any funny stories about being recognized in real life?
  • Where do you see yourself in five years? How about 25 years?

Now it’s your turn! Tell us which cover models you’d like us to invite for a smutty interview, and what questions would you like to ask?

Remember, every comment you leave gives you another chance to win one of 14 ebooks we’re giving away Sunday!

Thank you!

I’d like to see any and all of the hunky men who we drool over!! No need to ask any questions…… just let us look at them some more!!!

  2. Tina B

I am not too familiar with cover models, so I cannot give any suggestions on who to interview. I love all of your questions too! 😉 I would to see some of their answers. I have always been curious about what they think and how they react during a shoot.
They are definitely nice to look at! I think you have all of the questions covered so far. If I think of any, I will let you know. 🙂
    Thank you for sharing.

  3. What is the most seductive thing a woman has ever done for you?

What is the most romantic thing you’ve ever done for a woman?

  4. Would love it if you did an interview with Francis Cura, because he’s on my book cover and because he’s hotter than Dencorub on your groinal giblets.
Questions for any of the models:
-what’s the downside to being a model?
-how do you cope with being stared at all the time?
-do you think many people place too much emphasis on physical beauty (at the expense of other qualities)?
-what would you rather be doing than modelling?

  5. I love all the cover models so it is hard to pick just one. I would ask
If you could write a book and place yourself on the cover what would the book be about?

  6. I will take any of them!! If I have to choose one I would love Jimmy Thomas. He is very easy on the eyes and seems to be a down to earth kinda guy.

What a great idea. I think sometimes we forget that the cover model is a real person that can look that good. YUM! I do have a few questions:

    1. Have you found a prop or scene that you wanted to use or recreate personally? If so, what was it?
    2. While on a photo shoot, what type of input are you able to give?
    3. What kind of input are you able to have in choosing what jobs to take?
    4. What are your limits that you have when doing a photo shoot? Some things that you won’t do?
    5. Do you have other jobs you do? If so what?
    6. Have your pursued college or plan to pursue college? What did or will you study?
    7. I find tattoos and piercings very sexy. Do you have some? If so, what/ where and how does it impact your modeling?
    8. Tattoos/piercings on a woman: Sexy or Trashy?
    9. What qualities do you look for in a woman?
    10. Some men will only date outside of their field. Do you have any such personal rules on dating?
    11. Do you read the books that you appear on? If so, Which is your favorite?

Sorry for the long questions. There are so many more I can think of. Thanks for this opportunity to learn more about the men we love to look at.

  7. I would ask them if there is a favorite female cover model that they would like to work with but haven’t yet? Is there a cover that they would like to do but haven’t yet and have they ever dated a woman older then themselves?

  8. Susan W.

What is the best part of being a romance novel cover model?
What is the worst thing about being a romance novel cover modelt?
Do you have any plans for when you stop modeling?
Which do you prefer to model for, historical, paranormal, fantasy, contemporary, sci-fi, or steampunk?

There are so many good questions being asked already it was hard to come up with new ones!

  9. ebondreams

What gorgeous choices. I think Brooks Johnson is quite lovely. But the question is for any of them.
    1. There has been a growing market with full figured women in romance books, of all races. Do you have any future plans to take shots with full figured women to add to the need for stock for cover art?

  10. Good one Savannah :).

  11. Lynn

I’m really liking the questions about the piercings that Melissa made. I think I have two…..

    1) how dominant do you like to be in bed?
    2) are you available this weekend?

Oh wait!! I have two more,
    3) Have you ever been involved in a menage? Do you want to?

  12. I just have one question. Can I take you home with me? 🙂

  13. Fabulous questions, everyone! I’d love to know how the cover models feel about older women, May December romances!

  14. yganoe

I can’t say which model I would like to interview because they all have sex appeal, but my question is..Is there any story line you would be opposed to? M/M, Menage?

  15. SheriV

No good idea for questions. But I did meet Brooks at RT and he was a very gracious and sweet man. Not to mention gorgeous. 🙂

  16. Have you ever posed nude? If so, where might we find the pics? JK….I would like to know if they have any lines they will not cross when posing for book covers or for the books that they pose for. And if they have children, would they ever want their child to go into modeling?

  17. Kathy

How do you feel knowing that there are droves of women out there lusting after the pics on the book covers? Are you ever recognized as you go about your day to day activities in your private life and what is your usual response? In the area where I live there are famous people and most of us just try to give them space to live their life – strangely we almost feel protective of them.

  18. Lisa

I would just like to thank each and every one of them for doing what they do. Oh, and ask them how they feel about being classified as eyecandy. Does it make them feel good, or just, well, fluff? And I ditto what Nikki said, though I’d expand the question. How do you personally feel about your love interests? (in case they are ‘alternative’) Do looks rank high or do other qualities matter more? How do you feel about people who are fluffy, fluffier, fluffiest? ok.. i’ll stop now… lol

  19. My questions would be:
Do you get to come up with your own poses, or does the photographer or someone else choose them? If so, who?

Great idea, thanks for letting us input.

    Naomi Bellina

  20. I’d love to see Scott Nova interviewed. Here’s his web site: http://www.scottnova.com/

  21. I know that most of the models are smart men and I would like to know if they plan to keep modeling or is this a stepping stone to something else or maybe what other jobs they may do or be qualified to do?

  22. Eva P.

I’m not too familiar with the names, but I have recognized some faces, so I don’t think I have can name any names. Here are some questions:

What do you not like about modeling (like prepping, etc.)?
If you were stranded on an island, what 3 things would you wish to have with you?
How did you end up modeling and if weren’t modeling what is your profession of choice?
